Have had a 'not bad' day today. Didn't get to bed until 3 am so was very tired. Pay day today and my pay rise has come through and had about an extra £28. Not brilliant but not bad either. The next few months are pretty good for money for me. End AugustI'll get 3 months backpay, end September I got £65 less to pay out in direct debits and I have another pay rise on the 1st October.

Have decided that I'm going to ask J if he fancies a few days away in September. He desperately needs to get away from work and I wouldn;t mind a weekend away so have decided that I'll suggest it to him on Sunday when we go down his mums. Have looked at a few weekend trips and there are some trips to Bruge or Ostend for £180. It's enough to pay yet it'll probably do us the world of good.

Well it's the last day of the July challenge tomorrow and even though I haven't done as well as previous months I've not done badly.
  • You have done reaaly well and deserve a break. Are you going to do an August Challenge or take a month or so off?

Hi GR...a weekend away sounds like a brilliant idea. It sounds like just what you need. You've done brilliantly these last few months. Don't know about you but it is tiring doing ebay constantly. I know it's worth it but still...
Sounds good on the money front too. Just come at the right time for you. Hope you carry on the challenge. I know I will be.
Have a good day tomorrow hun.

    Thanks Diz,

I know what you mean about e-bay and Amazon, I seem to be constantly at the post office!!!! It is worth it though. I am going to carry on with the challenge as the money is great. Last day of the JUly challenge today so I'll update my total tomorrow when July is well and truly over.

Last day in work today as I'm off tomorrow for my car service and MOT. I'm really dreading it, luckily J is a manager with a well known garage franchise so I'm taking the car to him and then I'm going off to Ikea with my Niece and DD. A real girly day out. Going to pop to the Harvester for some lunch as well. I can't wait.....

Off to work now, running a bit late. Will catch you all later.

Good morning guys, Wendy I forgot to answer your question the other day - yes I'm going to continue with the challenge during August, even though I've got a heavy money month. Even if I fail to meet the £10 per day, hatever I make will be a bonus.

Had a late night again last night but cooked a lovely meal for J. He'd had a stressful day at work and even though he's supposed to finish work at 5.30 he didn't actually finish until 9. He phoned me as he was leaving and I told him to come to me for his Tea.

Have got the day off work today. Going to take the car to get its MOT and service and I'm praying it's not going to need any work done to it!!!!! Then going into Cardiff shopping with my Niece and DD. Was going to go to Ikea but my Niece needs a new dress so we're heading into town. I don't plan on spending much money though as I need to be careful.

Wendt to get DS some new trainers last night and done really well. Bought a pair that were £59.99 down to £19.99 in the sale. DS also fancied a tracksuit and a pair of trackie bottoms so my bill ended up at £79.98!!!!!

DS has been given £40 from a relative so he said I could have that money as payment for the tracksuit so it wasn't so bad after all.

Off to make myself beautiful now, have a date with the garage :)
  • Hope the date went well. What a sweet thing your DS is most kids would have argued over something like thator at least bargained!

    Good luck with August Challenge.

Thanks Wendy. Not a bad day at all. Went into Cardiff and bought a few things in the sales. Only spent £26 and had a shirt dress, 2 tank tops and a pair of pyjamas. Car service and MOT cost £160 and I seem to have had lots for that!!!

Bought a few odds and ends in M&S foodhall for J's tea and then went to the Harvester for lunch. Have had a lovely day and anaged to keep the spends to a minimum as well.
