I'm thinking of moving to PP but would like to know if it is compulsory to install smart meters for both gas &elec. I know it might be some time before smart meters will be rolled out but do you have to instal the meters or is it optional?0

I received an email from PP asking if I'd like to go on the list for the installation of smart meters, no where have I seen that it will be compulsory.0 -
Thanks. I'm not a fan of smart meters and I've heard a lot of problems about them from family and friends.0

I've just submitted a switch request via MSE to PP - I've received the email from PP but when I click on "Finish Switch" it just takes me to your app for a quote.
I can't call anyone or reply to the email so I'm unsure what to try next, apart from abandoning the switch....0 -
Hey @McTavish71
If you could let our Member Services team know (tap 'help' > 'Ask WattBot') by explaining the issue and the screen you're seeing, they'll be able to look into this for you.

I was very happy with my switch to Pure Planet and the app, as people have noted, is really very good and reliable. I have hit problems though having moved on. Pure Planet are really quite difficult to contact, they force you to use their chat bot which is quite poor and you can't reach a real person. It's way over 6 weeks since I left, my balance refund still hasn't been paid, so I would advise caution.0

Hey @pljv
Good advice from @Umiamz on how to get in touch with our Member Services team.:)
It can take up to 6 weeks from when you switch for a final bill to be produced, and up to 10 days for the refund to reach you after that.
If you message the team they'll be able to look into this for you and make sure you've received your final bill.

Thinking of moving to Pure Planet. Read some reviews and found out monthly payments will not be the same over the year. They say a little more in winter, and a little less in summer. My electricity usage is fairly constant throughout the year, but my gas usage varies quite dramatically because of my central heating which is switched off during the summer months. I pay £75pm for gas, but can use over £100 in January and only £20 in July. That's more than a little more or a little less. Seems like we are back to paying for exactly what we use each month. So, do I have to do my own budgeting over the year, putting extra away over the summer to pay for the winter bills?0

The summer and winter payments should cover you if you've estimated your usage correctly. My payments increased not because of price rises but because my Daughter came back to live with us.0
