Best thing to do is to read my review on TripAdvisor where I state everything wrong with the trip.

I cannot post the link to the forum apparently with being a new user.

Loving that review - it's given me a real sense of perspective for the rest of the afternoon

For those that can't be bothered to read it's a Turkish 5* hotel with staff who speak little English, only 2 English TV channels and a wide selection of local food that wasn't to OPs taste

Anyone who's been to Turkey before would have given you this info in a 5min conversation but instead you've gone with higher expectations and they've not been met. I'd also put money on it that it cost half of a hotel that would've met your expectations in an alternative, established 5* location

My view is you can complain all you like but you're not likely to get much more from Jet2

Good job thats your opinion. I got married in Cyprus in June. This was actually a 5* Hotel, with very friendly staff, who spoke little english or some spoke good english. They couldnt do enough for us and other members of the wedding party throughout the whole of the stay.

I read reviews on TripAdvisor prior to booking the trip to Litore and it didnt live upto expectation or what was descripted on Jet2 website.

Indeed it is my opinion having done both Cyprus & Turkey (and a number of other locations) - your issue seems to be in expecting Turkish 5* to be comparable to Cypriot 5*

There are significant differences in 5* expectations for coastal resorts in Turkey - particularly given the continuing political unrest.

Out of interest are we talking a sub £1k pp holiday or a £5k pp holiday
  • 5* is 5*, regardless of location. I've worked in hospitality to a high standard myself in the past.

If I'm booking a 5* resort, regardless of location, I expect perfection. This was far from it.

Good luck then - but comparing The Dorchester to a Turkish beach resort via Yorkshire airlines is madness of the highest degree

So how much did you pay?

You wont be getting a refund no matter how hard you stamp your feet.

So the moral of the story is not to book a cheap holiday in Turkey

How is what I paid relevant if I won't get it back? :undecided

It wasn't a cheap holiday. It was a relatively expensive honeymoon.
