I've just discovered the using-face-wipes-to-clean-the-bathroom-sink tip and, as someone who is somewhat phobic of cleaning, i love it! doesn't feel like cleaning but keeps the sink acceptable.
I always freeze excess food thanks to these forums, and if I'm not sure if I can freeze it I google "can you freeze xx?" to find out first
p.s. what are stardrops? they sound like a kind of sweet!Sum quod sum.0 -

No. 1 is Hobnob recipe. No. 2 is that even what you think of as everyday necessary purchases aren't always necessary. I've never believed in buying a different cleaning product for each job but I always bought kitchen rolls every week. I stopped buying them and has our kitchen disappeared under a load of spills & messes? No it hasn't! That's about 52 quid a year I was literally chucking in the bin.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 6.8kg/30kg

Ooh, let me think! Batch cooking and menu planning, followed by using less (1/2 dishwasher tablet, etc), and cooking almost everything from scratch. Those would be my top ones.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0

Learning at my ripe old age that even if it's not raining. if the paving stones remain wet the washing won't dry. So easy and totally foolproof (would need to be for me)
I had that 'duh' moment myself just a few years ago. I was looking at the sky to see if I should put the washing out, but my mum told me about the paving stones! So blinkin' obvious really isn't it?0 -

How I did it. Well first you have to treat the chicken as an accompanment to the meal rather than the main part. My family are big meat eaters but if you flavour the meal well with good stock you dont need to add much meat at all. Things like chicken stew, rissoto and even chicken salad sandwiches. I put so much veg/salad in the meal that by the time I need to add the meat you dont really need to add much.
also I always cook my chicken in the slow cooker as I can strip it down easier. And Always cook the bones for a lovely soup at the end.Happy days
