Use an old credit card to take off the excess when using sealant round the bath etc. Gives a really clean finish and you won't waste as much as you can reapply what you scraped off elsewhere. If you don't have a card, you can put a piece of clingfilm over your finger and use that instead.

Keep freshly ground coffee in a resealable tin/tupperware in the freezer, and use it straight from frozen. Keeps it nice and fresh. If you don't have room, store in the fridge rather than in a cupboard.

Freeze left over wine in ice cube trays, and then bag. Great for adding to stock/gravy/spagbol etc.
On the other hand, don't bother, always a good excuse to open a bottle of wine, because a recipe demands it!

babywipes - really can remove silicone from your fingers, and anywhere else that it should not be - though before it sets

    And another one....
1/2-1 capful of fabric conditioner in half litre spray bottle diluted with water. Great for spraying on clothes for ironing. Can also be used a a room spray, and for spraying on fabrics such as curtains to freshen up.

When defrosting a bread loaf, stand it up on it's end where the bag tie is. Then, any slices are soggy from the defrosting processwould be the first slices and not the last ones that may go mouldy quickly.

To make poached eggs without having to clean the pan, line a ramekin dish with cling film and make sure it drapes over the side. Break your egg into the dish. Pull up the cling film aroung the egg and make sure there is hardly any air inside, remove from the ramekin dish and then twist the top around and make a little parcel. Place in VERY gently simmering water and simmer till the white goes "white". Then remove, unwrap and plonk onto your toast. The just empty the pan, dry it and put it away!!!
