Update:
Director of the company came down today after reading our concerns and he said he wants to bring the deposit now to 70% that is £7000 from the original £2000 otherwise they wont continue with the fitting leaving the job half done.
Wont this breach the contract?
If I agree paying a higher deposit after this dispute for the sake completing the job then am I still entitled to section 75 credit card refund?
Has he read whats been posted in this thread on this site?0 -

To be honest they could have been measured a bit closer, but considering the unfinished state of most of the reveals, sills, plasterboard heads etc missing, they should be fine. Have finishes to the reveals been removed since they were measured up0

Apologies for asking but what are reveals and brick reveals?0

When I used to fit windows I'd allow 10mm overall width ways, however you had more allowance top and bottom if the window sill were missing. (edit: I used to measure top, middle and bottom and take the narrowest measurement as my size. This could lead to bigger gaps if the window opening wasn't square but that's better than a window which is tight or won't fit.)
Looks to me like the gaps will be covered up anyway. One pic shows no window sill another shows plaster needs patching. I'd let them finish what they are doing, keep out of the way and review the finished result.
Threatening non payment is never a good suggestion. Even if you do pay you still have rights. But using non payment as a stick to beat them with can escalate disputes quite rapidly.
I usually find myself working extremely slowly to resolve people who do this, I can't help it hahaIf only everything in life was as reliable...AS ME !!

The Glass and Glazing Federation have an "expert witness" category in their find a member search facility. Failing that they might be able to suggest some names if you give them a call.0
