I have left That Sister in hospital awaiting an x-ray of the blockage..
She is also being sick so something inside isn't right
hopefully they will do the x ray soon and it will be swelling that might go down ...

That doesn't sound so bad  they shouldn't need too much fir spends as the gym and spa are included with some treatments each. We're also paying for some outings fir whoever wants to go. DS3 has been looking into sea fishing trips, typical if him, as though he doesn't do enough fishing at home :rotfl:
They were further down the list  :rotfl: It gets to a point where case gets weighed and I start chucking things in, just incase you understand
I totally understand - my checked case weighed 30kg and hand luggage 7 kg on the dot.I still cant get used to be out and about with our adult children and letting them pay for things - we end up with gentlemen's agreements that they pay for one thing and I treat them to something else. I do let them buy rounds of drinks at the bar though as I have lime and soda usually - one adult always has to be sober
As for taking them on holiday we have not really done that for about 7 years. I paid for the airbandb house for the wedding which has 3 bedrooms and we had various combinations of children staying with us over that weekend. it was just more cost effective to do that rather than pay for 3 hotel rooms.
And before that we had a midweek break at Whinfeld and again various children came and went (but not eldest son who refused point blank and babysat the cats instead)
But the last big family break was 7 years ago when we took them all to Norway for a weeks cruise. At the time we didn't know but it was actually the last family holiday, all scattered to the 4 winds since then and apart from odd days like Christmas or New Year, never all in the one place since (not even when my dad died as eldest son was out in Afgan at the time)
It is weird with them paying - but it is something I need to adjust to.
As a parent of adult children, the most wonderful feeling in the world is when they are all home and in bed asleep.... it just feels like bliss (although normally there are a few GF in the house as well).:D:D:D:D
That is actually why I am in a state of flux today.
Errant son goes off on his phase one 14 weeks training in May - same base as his big brother did his training at. Originally he was told it would be February but that didn't happen and then finally he got this May start date.
Errant son has been working full time at his temp job at the hotel this year since he got back from the Christmas holidays - varying amount of shifts every week and very occasionally he also got a housekeeping shift to fill in the gaps.
Yesterday was his last day at the hotel. Its the same hotel as Eldest child worked at when she was at 6th form - she actually started at 15 and they then realised she was under age so she was sacked and then rehired after her birthday. So with long gaps inbetween times we have had 15 years of 2 of our kids working there.
We had dinner at the hotel last night and it was quite poignant as Errant son is much treasured by the staff and the hotel. His boss says they are going to have to employ 2 people to take his place and he wasn't joking!
All of his stuff is packed up and ready for May so in the meantime he is having 10 days walking, climbing and biking etc. So he filled the van last night and he has gone off since 6.30 this morning for a week or so to meet up with old mates in the Lakes and then onto the Scottish borders and possibly further north.
We are getting ourselves ready again for having an empty nest, although it will be staggered this time - 10 days, then 14 weeks and then 42 weeks before he is gone altogether.
When he came home in April 2017 we were only just sorted out - physically, mentally, emotionally - with there only being the 2 of us. At that time we thought it was forever but fate had different ideas. Now we have to start the whole process of adjusting again.
I've relished today only having to wash up once instead of 4 times and the wash basket is empty and it will stay that way now for at least 3 days
You will quickly adjust to it again - and all the freedom that it gives you... just remember not to open your curtains whilst walking around naked!:D:D:D:D:D:D
Errant son will be okay - but it does seem a flipping long process to get his wife here. DS1 and his new wife are arriving next week and will do the spouse process in the UK, but they are also applying for DS1 to go to Singapore to live/work, which resulted in us having to send his certificates over urgently at a cost of £60 for an interview on Monday with Singapore immigration - I think that they are much more efficient that the Home Office - I think that it is going to be very expensive time for us as parents but at least he will be in the UK for a while which will be lovely.:D:D:D:D
