The chatline at nectar gave me this email address: helpline@nectar.com . Complaint sent. Not sure what the relationship with Nectar and Sainsbury's is but Sainsbury's is where most of my points come from. Sainsbury's is not the only supermarket near me as is the case with most people. I intend to switch my shopping deliberately to other supermarkets, say for the NEXT YEAR. I nice hit of the bottom line will get their attention. Don't get mad, get even. All told the 2 treads have been viewed 100k times, say 100 pm for the next 12 for 100k unhappy people, 120M off the turnover.

Are you aware that these companies that offer the free treats are not being paid to do them. They are on a contract with TLC in order to try and create themselves new custom

In fact it's our professional bodies who've entered into the main contract. As therapists we get to opt in or not. We can also limit the number of clients we see via the scheme. Obviously no-one can afford unlimited, non-paying clients. This is our livelihood after all and no-one re-imburses us for lost revenue. To be fair, not one of the "freebies" I've ever done has resulted in a single client coming back. And it's not just me. Almost all the therapists I've worked with or spoken to have had the same experience - free treatments rarely, if ever, generate clients. I haven't opted in for that reason. We also have to put up with quite a number of no-shows - people who don't even have the courtesy to call and let us know they're not coming. That's the trouble when people get something for nothing. They don't value it, or the person they're getting it from.

I too initially got sent the usual useless day out voucher instead of the zorbing I asked for. But when I called back (admittedly after several attempts) I was sent a voucher for zorbing. So I was really happy! But (you've guessed it) this was short-lived - when I called the location, they said I have to pay £40 for one person to get my place free, so more a BOGOF than a free treat. I did complain to nectar - persistently, by phone & e-mail - & they gave me 2000 free points. Better than many got, by the sound of it......

i have been trying to get through to exterme lives who do extreme sports day out thingy on their 0870 number rip off - i called within their trading hours a month and half ago and got no reply

just tried the number again as the voucher runs out at the end of august to find out that the number has been disconnected.

so if nectar are offering free points i will go down that route and that company concerned should be renamed "extreme loadofcrap"
  • Nectar are a con. I ordered £300 of DVDs and CDs through Amazon and entered my code as requested but the points were never credited to my account. After phoning the helpline I was told that it was because I hadn't registered it online in advance.

So why have the option for "guests" to enter their 11-digit Nectar number and then be directed to the Amazon website to make their purchases if the offer is only available to those who have registered?

Shouldn't I have been got a "Sorry you have not registered this card" message when I entered the number and was redirected to Amazon?

These companies are all in cahoots together to increase their profits at the expense of the consumer who didn't read the small print (not that there was any small print to read in the first place)

    One big con.
