Non-funeral funeral

Maybe the reason we act & talk like the dead could have done no wrong in life despite knowing it not to be true is done so that it gives us the right to completely disrespect their wishes over their death/funeral.
I agree with the sentiment that if you don't want to respect the dead's wishes then just don't attend.0 -
My mum (75) has asked me to cremate her..............my dad has spare room in a burial plot and her mum and dad have a space in the cemetery as they were cremated.
She asked for me to spread her ashes somewhere nice..............I never asked loads of questions I just said........."Mum, I will do whatever you ask if its possible".0 -
I agree that funerals are for the living and not the dead, and are part of the grieving process (often it isn't until after a funeral that people accept the loss and can begin to move on), but at the same time, if you want to pay your respects to someone who has died, you respect their choice for how they want to be remembered (or not).0
