    Hi Potters

I bank parts of my savings Dragon Lily and Saver-Upper. When the pot starts to feel heavy, I tend to count up and bag as much as possible and take it to the bank. I withdraw the amount in notes and add that to a note pot. We do have a small safe to stash it in (which we bought for our house deeds), so I'm not too worried about having money in the house. Then, on opening day, I still have no idea how much I've got and it's a lovely surprise. It works for me anyhow. :)

Just cleared my purse and I have £5.03 to pot today. Have a lovely weekend Potter friends. :)

Forgot to add in that I potted, I think, £6 last week. I had the whole of the bank holiday week off work after our London trip - which was fabulous, as usual, and our track record of having awesome weather continues (despite an overnight thunderstorm) - but I've been suffering from labyrinthitis.

In truth it started before the London trip including an acute dizzy/out of body spell whilst driving my car but I couldn't do anything about it and didn't want to spoil the trip. I actually thought I'd had an eye migraine and got through the weekend fine. It was only when we got home and I still felt weird driving my car that I thought I'd better check it out with my GP. Unfortunately that didn't go as smoothly as it might have, 'stroke' was mentioned (family history) so my GP was going to refer me to a neurologist. Then she phoned and said it was highly unlikely, but that colleagues had suggested it might be labyrinthitis so I had to go for blood tests. I was barred from driving and doing the decorating I planned for last week because I wasn't allowed on the stepladder. Anyway the bloods came back normal, which was Tuesday this week, having already told my manager I'd be off work. Then I was just left hanging. Literally had to ask my GP what next, and then argue with the receptionist again for a same-day appointment. I saw a different GP who was satisifed that it was labyrinthitis and prescribed me some tablets. Seriously annoying though, when it could have been sorted a week earlier and I might not have had to have all of this week off work as well. I drove my car yesterday for the first time in nearly 2 weeks (it isn't happy, brakes were stuck and the wheels are grinding through lack of use, plus the birds have been using it for target practice again) and went round to my mum's which is literally 5 minutes away. It was just so nice to get out of the house and have a conversation with someone who wasn't the dog, myself or my husband!! Plus I haven't seen her since we got back from London, although I've spoken to her. I'm still a bit woozy in a morning, and I have to take my time getting up off the sofa/out of the car, but I can at least feel the tablets starting to kick in after the second one around lunchtime. Today I went to the funeral of a friend's father-in-law and felt drunk but I think that's more because I didn't have much to eat at all and with having to get a friend to give me a lift, the day was longer than it might have been had I been driving myself. Tomorrow will be a test as I'm having my hair and nails done and need to drive myself there and back, so I need to get up early and make sure I've had breakfast and taken my first tablet in good time, then make sure I have a snack and my second tablet while I'm there (having my hair coloured so it's a long appointment). All being well I'll be back to work on Monday and fingers crossed the tablets continue to work as we go on holiday in 3 weeks and I need to do my share of the driving!!

Ahh MRs Shazbat, I feel for you with labrynthitis, DH got it when we were on holiday one year and he was so dizzy. Flight home was not fun for him (we didn't know what it was till we got back so he was flying on just some ibuprofen). Took him months to feel right again, good that you have tablets, hopefully it will all be gone before holiday time :)

Banking potting money  I just can't! I can't open my tins before tin opening day  But I do REALLY enjoy the whole counting up and bagging up of all the change, I set aside the whole day to my pots :rotfl: not so keep on taking it all down to the bank, happy to hand over the £1's and change, but my £2 coins  that evil woman behind the counter takes every one!

Over £15 in the pot last night :D DH was jingling so I alleviated him of over £6 in change for a £5 note :D and then he went to the pub and came back with £9.02 in change and alleviated me of a tenner! not sure he's understanding how this is supposed to work

I had £4.15 in my purse when I did my usual end of fortnight transfer - and ONLY £4.15 to my name.:)

I have had visitors from the USA,and I used up my total £300 budget (decorating, bedding ,towels, food, transport etc etc etc) Nothing left in any purses where I save up for the window cleaner, hairdresser, etc. Not a penny in the usual household budget box where we place £140 at the beginning of each fortnight for food and expenses.Nothing in coat pockets or windowsills or drawers.I normally add anything left to this pot,so I am happy there was at least SOMETHING to save!:rotfl::rotfl:

I definitely budgeted it all out pretty accurately, didnt I? I thought I might have had to resort to my debit card, which is looking a little sparse too,but I managed to do everything without a withdrawal,so I am so pleased:T:T:T:T

Went shopping for father's day presents with the kids today. At one stage my 9yo got a £2 coin in her change, and I was trying to work out a way to buy it from her,but I didn't have any change at that stage. So it was spent again  .
But I did get a £2 coin of my own,so will pot it when I next go upstairs.

I find now I put my change in to a pot and then use it at supermarket self service tills rather than banking it. Instead, I don't withdraw so much from my bank. I say take £20 out of the bank in cash to pay for petrol, get £3.20 change for example and then add that to various other bits of change I gather up. I then go in to the supermarket and put it in the self service tills. I used 24p in pennies and 2p pieces the other day to buy 2 bananas for breakfast. One of my better savvy saver moments!
