Going to struggle to stick to plan for the next few days, but determined to try my best.
Today's plan:
Breakfast - yogurt and fruit
Lunch/Snacks - SW quiche, cereal bars, fruit (yes, hospital appointment again)
Dinner - SW lasagne
HA - milk and cheese
HB - cereal bars
Syns - hospital day, so there are always syns
Then this weekend I am away, and not sure if there will be much wifi, so don't worry if you don't see me on hereZebras rock0 -

Crazy time to be posting but I woke up and can't get back to sleep. KATHRYN, is it possible to be put down for a holiday this week? I think I've seen other people do it (hopefully this isn't my imagination!).
I've been way off plan and would just like a little grace period til I get back on it next week. I don't even want to go near the scales. Emotional eating due to crappy circumstances and all that!!
Thanks if this is possible x
Take care of you.
Kathryn will be able to sort that out for you

Managed to shift another 1/2LB this week. 2 more weigh ins until I go to NYC.
I've planned a curry and rice for tea but nothing else just yet so I'd better have a look and see what I can have for lunch.0 -
Afternoon all
Happy to report 1/2lb off for this week, first loss in weeks My scales weigh in decimals after the pounds so its actually .6lb. If it just weighed to lbs it would be STS! However various social events start this weekend, all involving food and drink, so I'm hoping I can keep going as much as possible in between.
I've ducked out of one Christmas do today (one of those where pulling my own teeth would be more appealing!) so I'm now down to one next week, two the following week, then normal service is resumed till Christmas proper. I plan to enjoy them all.
Poohsticks I make my own pasta sauce. To add speed I tend to make ratatouille and whizz it up. If you haven't got a whizzer, it will mash with a fork if you cook it soft enough. It also freezes well. You can leave out anything you don't like
1 onion chopped small
2 cloves garlic crushed
Peppers, any colours, chopped small
Aubergine, chopped
1 small carrot, grated (you can't taste it in the sauce once cooked)
1 courgette, chopped small
Tin of tomatoes or passata
Tomato puree
Dried oregano
Dried basil
Salt and pepper
Tiny pinch of sugar, literally a pinch. (A teaspoon is 1 syn and this is far less)
Fry the onion and garlic in frylight. Add all other ingredients with a splash of water to thin if needed. Bring to the boil then simmer for around 20 mins, stir occasionally.
I often leave it chunky to serve with pasta or make veggie lasagne with it.
Have a good weekend everyone.0 -
Good luck at the hospital kathrynha. Hope you don't need too many syns to get through it.:Ap00hsticks wrote: »Yes, I realised after I'd planned our menu that pasta sauces aren't particularly good. It was Baresa brand - the 'with Basil' variety. The Calory value was 420 calories for the jar. I've read that you can work on 1 syn per 20 calories, which would make it 21 syns between the two of us - so 10 and a half each ?
I'd be interested to know what others do with pasta, instead of using pasta sauce . I was thinking of using passata / tomato puree and/or tinned ratatouille ?
As it's not listed, I've used the online calculator to try and work out the syns and it's coming out at anything between 2 and 10 syns for the whole jar. If tomato is the highest percentage ingredient then its at the lower end which is great for a pre-prepared pasta sauce as many can be hugely synful. As it's not listed (i.e. SW haven't worked it out) then I wouldn't eat it regularly as I wouldn't risk it.
Of course you can make your own pasta sauce. Personally I prefer using tinned tomatoes to passata as I like it a bit more chunky. Use the jar to give you ideas but onion, garlic, seasoning and some herbs is a good basis. Google is helpful to for recipes which can be easily adapted for SW.
It's DD's birthday tomorrow and she's opted for Zizzi's for lunch. I've had a quick look at the menu and there do seem to be a few fairly innocuous dishes so I'll do my best. But that's for tomorrow.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, 2 boiled eggs, HEA milk for drinks
L: LO ham hash, cauli, broccoli and kale with pickled cabbagechicken stir fry (peppers, mushrooms, spring onions, carrot) with noodles and SW chips
Syns: bread 2.5 (hand cut and I weighed it:o), honey 3, maybe gin:D
ETA: Well done esmy. Always good to have a loss!0 -

Kathryn - hope the hospital appointment goes well and you don't need too many syns to get through it!
Maman - still on the gin diet I see:D
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs on toast; melon
L - jacket potato; beans; salad
D - mini toad in the hole; potatoes; cabbage; green beans (7.5 syns as I make the batter with eggs & water so only flour & sausages to syn)
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - 25g flour 4.5; 3 sausages 3
Have had a delivery of cake flavourings today and so have already planned on apple & plum crumble flavoured baked oats for breakfast tomorrow, yum:D. Will grate some apple on top once cooked (don't have to syn it then :rotfl:)

I think you could be right about the fruit bubbs . I try to have most of my Speed as veg. Sugar is sugar after all, however natural.
I asked greentiger about syboes a while back. Apparently it's the Scottish word for spring onions. My Nana used to call them shibbons so I think that was the Welsh version.
ETA: Great loss jay .Brilliant!
Good to hear you sounding so philosophical lush . Good to have that half stone as a mini target. It'll be much easier to do your menu planning around the musclefoods.
Well done to all the losers:T:T

Being away from home today (and attending a family function) made it hard to stick as closely to the plan as I'd have liked. I had
Breakfast: fruit salad, scrambled egg, smoked salmon
Lunch: vegetable soup, wholemeal bread (HEA, butter (2 syns)
Buffet: 2 cocktail sausages, 1 prawn tempura, 1 chicken strip (7 syns)
Dinner: tandoori chicken and rice (9 syns)
HEA Semi skimmed milk
So a few syns over today, but could have been a lot worse as the buffet was full of very unhealthy food and I had to be seen to be eating something.0
