:T well done on your losses poohsticks.

It seems to be working for you but, to me, you don't seem to eat much food in a day. Have you cut back on portion size since starting SW?:)

    Thanks, maman.
No , we've not really cut down on portion size at all, although tried to incorporate the 'third of a plate of speed' where we can. Is this something you think we should be doing ?

My OH - who needs to lose just a few pounds - has agreed to share the main meals with me but we usually go our own way for breakfast/lunch.

I have a pretty sedentary life - I intend to gradually get more exercise as I lose some of the weight, so I suspect I don't actually need that many calories. Since I've retired and it's winter I don't get up that early and sometimes merge breakfast and lunch as we have dinner early (usually between 5pm and 6pm).

As I'm not feeling hungry and seem to have settled into a steady loss of 1-2lb a week I think I'll carry on as I am for the present.

    Today;
    Breakfast: Beans on toast (HEB)
Lunch: cheese (HEA) salad, perhaps with wholewheat pasta
Dinner: 'fakeaway' prawn fried rice (2 syns for oil spray)
Snacks; muller light yoghurt, banana, grapes, clementines, 2 finger kitkat (5.5 syns)

Things seem to be working for you p00hsticks so I'd just carry on as you are. You can always make changes further down the line if you plateau.

    Today's plan:

    B - SW fry up
L - HM veg soup; 1 slice of WM bread (0.5 HEB)
D - SC gammon, carrots, onions, celery; served with mash & cabbage on the side
    S - Alpen Light bar (0.5 HEB) - if I fancy it

    HEA - milk
    HEB - as above
Syns - none planned but who knows whether I'll want something later!

I think the scales moved a little, but only an extremely small move... so I will count it as STS which is a miracle as I have had a bottle of wine, and 2 meals out.

OH has just FORCED me to get off my bum and go for a 10,000 step walk. I was trying to walk everyday, but work gets in the way. I think I last walked on Monday, which is rather appalling of me.

Back on plan until Thursday when old friends are gathering to celebrate Christmas.

  • Hi,

Hope everyone is doing okay and keeping warm in this freeze.

I’ve had a STS this week. I have been on plan apart from a lovely cream tea one day so a STS is okay by me. Keeping my fingers crossed though for a loss next week. I’d still like to make a difference by Christmas. Wishing everyone well x

PS BEANIE, you made me chuckle when you said the chocolate monster had got you!! I think I’ll steal that phrase as I’m sure it won’t be long til he comes for me again :)

As denise said poohsticks, if it aint broke.....;) I just wanted you to be aware that if you wanted to eat more or have more syns then you can. You're definitely right to have a third of Speed. IMO, Speed and planning are the two most important features of SW. I average my Speed through the day as I rarely have any at breakfast time so I try for 50% at my other meals. My DH and I always have the same dinners and sometimes breakfasts but do our own thing at lunchtime.

We've been out to football today so meals messed around a bit. I said I'd go back to the half time Crunchie when I got into target range but I didn't feel like it so I stuck to the Satsuma.:D

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: ham, cottage cheese, beetroot, tomato
D: roast beef, SW roast potatoes and BNS, red cabbage, green cabbage, broccoli, cauli, swede & carrot mash
Snacks: Satsuma, raspberries and thick yogurt
Syns: extra porage 6, syrup 2, gravy?, wine syns?
