  • weigh in last night +2lb :( though not surprised given the bloat I have at the moment and the 3 course meal right before weigh in :/ it wasn't necessarily 'bad'/off plan food there was just more than I'd usually eat for lunch

trying not to get disheartened and binge tbh. I have sw Mexican chicken for lunch. had some white bread at breakfast as I was in a rush however evening meal will be much better. I'm thinking chicken wrapped in bacon with salad/jackets. last working day and tons to get done so need to go and try and make a dent in it all!

this week has a meal out and a few xmas "coffee meet ups" but I'm sure I can plan around them.

Lunch: 1/2 a chicken tikka ready meal, rice and steam bag of veggies

Dinner: sw meal balls with veggie tomato sauce with 40gm cheese (Hea)

maybe some chocolate for some syns later on

Hope all is well, hugs to those that need them

    Morning all.

    Maman
well done at getting back to target, and Bubbs losing again, hope you're happier this week! Well done other losers and STSs, keep at it the gainers. I'm in a leggings/dress combo this morning, comfortable and warm. Last Winters discovery was leggings instead of tights - so much warmer!

1/2 lb off for this week - happy with that at least I'm losing at my usual slow rate. Now at the original target I set when I started SW at the start of the year, revised target needs another 3lbs loss.

Yesterdays food to plan until tea time which involved a trip to McD****ds. I could have had their salad but tried it once and was very uninspiring - and it was cold and snowing - and I can make as many excuses as I like but I still ate 28 syns in one meal.

    Todays plan
B Bran flakes berries and yoghurt with honey
L Something with eggs - poss speed filled omlette
D Not sure if we're at home - if we are it will be SW fish and chips.

Can I ask for advice from anyone who uses a gym? I promised myself that when I got under 12 st I would try to improve my exercise level (pretty much nil at the moment).I have discovered that DD2 and I can use the local university gym at a very discounted rate (she works there, I'm an ex graduate) including the pool and lots of classes. At 57 and with a history of dodgy knees I don't want to go mad. I want to improve my flexibility and strength in particular, so was thinking of swimming, maybe pilates to start with. The exercise machinery scares me a bit! Any advice from gym bunnies welcome.

I'm by no means a gym bunny Esmy, but I'm 49 with bad knees and about 3 stone overweight and I find pilates very achievable for my fitness level. I can't swim but if I could that's also something which is very low impact. I can no longer manage treadmills or even exercise bikes due to problems with my joints and general stamina but that might change as the weight comes off for me.

See if there's any Aqua classes too. I go to Aqua fit on a Tuesday and once had a personal trainer tell me it wouldn't do out, but as long as you're moving and burning calories it's the main thing. I really enjoy going. Used to go to shabam too (bit like Zumba) but might not be ideal for the knees. Often they will do an induction so you'll see what's best to use etc.

    Afternoon all
Gosh I’m tired today. I’m not sleeping very well because of OH’s overtime and I think it’s catching me up. I had planned stuff for today but just feel utterly sluggish! We had a dusting of snow overnight but literally a dusting which is good because once the heavy snow comes i’ll be housebound as I’m not good on my feet.
I’ve seen a picture of myself took yesterday when I did some volunteering at uni- it’s due to be in the paper today :o I look an utter fright :D I’ve got a scabby eye (my eyes are really dry and the strong drops I’m prescribed make them sticky and look horrid) so I’ve got my prescription shades on, and had I known the media were there I would have worn my wig- what hair I have was sticking up in random spikes and I’m leaning heavily on my crutch with one hand and holding a roll of wrapping paper in the other :D Not the best photo ever taken :D
    Today’s menu:
B: HEXB bran flakes with HEXA milk and a satsuma
L: SW quiche (1.5 syns for the Heck sausages I put in) big mixed salad, Apple
T: pan haggerty (north eastern dish, the recipe is one of the SW recipe books) Fab lolly (4 syns)
S: Chicken drumsticks, 2 x cans alcohol Free Budweiser (7 syns)
Syns: 16.5 (includes the two advent calendar chocs I had)
    Love to you all xx

Hope you're really enjoying your spa day bubbs and pleased with your pound off.

I'd see if they have a personal trainer to give you advice at the gym esmy. You're right that swimming would be low impact but definitely better to ask an expert.

Try not to be disheartened lush. Having festive meals is bound to have an effect.:)

We had a really good time last night. Other than the cheeseboard I'd say the rest of my food was very SW friendly. However, lots of wine syns were consumed and I have a sore head to prove it.:(

I've done my meal plan for the week so just need to go out and brave the shops.:(

    Today's EE menu:
B: NAS grapefruit, 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
    L: lentil and veg soup
    D: sausages, mash Speed veg
Syns: 2.5 extra bread, 2 for sausages, gravy?
Not sure about wine syns, depends whether I feel like hair of the dog.;)

Been a busy day today. Even managed to change the bed this morning, wash, dry & put away. Weather is really cold, but was blowing well so washing dried in a couple of hours.

Hope your spa day was good Bubbs.

Your meal sounded good Maman; hope the head's feeling a bit better now!

    Today's plan:

B - baked oats (with G&T flavouring - won in raffle at group yesterday; certainly wouldn't bother buying it - all smell and no taste!)
    L - carrot & lentil soup
    D - steak, chips, onions & mushrooms

    HEA - milk
    HEB - porridge
    Syns - pastis - 2 or 3 so 6 or 9 syns!

Another over on my syns day, and I'm out at a party tonight which I had forgotten about.
Going to have to take it easy on the buffet and hope for the best. Fingers crossed there will be carrot sticks, and I'll be drinking water.

Don't think I'll be staying long at the party though. Knackered and out all day tomorrow too.
