Cheers Beanie and Cross Rabbit - today marks my 12th day of being ill! Antibiotics are definitely doing their thing, but unfortunately they have side affects too and I'm left feeling exhausted (if slightly less snotty). We're going to attempt a family lunch at a local pub today, about as energetic as I feel. Just praying I'm well enough for work on Monday, can't remember the last time I basically had a full week off.£43.43 paid off CC.3

I had two pints and fell asleep on the couch with Mrs E and DD, wrapped in our kingsize duvet like a burrito!Feeling quite a lot better today, must be nearly half way through the antibiotics?Mrs E got us some reduced price cinema tickets, so we're taking DD to see whatever the latest kid's film is at Silverburn this afternoon. Will need to get a few extra bits of food for the freezer as well, stocks are running low and supermarkets are a bit crazy in Glasgow at the mo£45.97 paid off the CC - had a couple of low value eB@y sales. The console closes on Tuesday (payday) evening and is currently at £56. Not quite as good as the rare prototype one that recently sold for $250,000 recently, but then again I've never worked for a games developerI feel we will survive the week - that's a win!4

I hope you'll be feeling fully fit again soon. I know you want to get back to work but often the aftermath of these illnesses leaves people feeling as weak as a kitten even when the actual nastier/messier symptoms have stopped. Take care.3 -
I woke up this morning to momentary uncertainty and a feeling that something wasn't right. Then I realised that I was breathing, unobstructed, through both of my nostrils!!! Don't laugh, but that is actually the highlight of the last fortnight
My course of antibiotics runs out tomorrow and while I'm still producing wonderfully coloured tissues, it's when I choose to blow my nose as I'm feeling a bit stuffy, not every 30 seconds.
eB@y purchaser finally deigned to pay for the console (£59), so I've transferred the money from Payp@l and have paid £45 off the CC. Today's regular payment was £43.02 and I'll move whatever is left over from the eB@y and postage costs tonight. With that (and another couple of regular payments over the last few days), the balance is now under £3,500! Seeing as my last goal was £5,000 by the end of February, things are going swimmingly.
If I don't use my 13th wage to pay off the rest, I need to find c. £43/day until the last day of May. If I do use my 13th wage, it's a more relaxed £18/day. At the moment I likes a challenge.
Have a lovely day all. I've got a colleague's leaving lunch today, some industrial grocery shopping tonight (I feel school closures coming) and then one more day to work.

Yes indeed, over 20% losses on my ISA since 24th Jan. Scary! We will just wait it out though. Apart from the well-known disaster with the Woodford fund and a late-to the party, poorly timed investment in Fevertree, (both in DH's portfolio) everything else is looking OK apart from the Covid-Crash. His losses are "only" 18%!!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

My Plan B was investing more!We got very lucky - our pensions were sold to cash after losses of 6% or so, so we managed to miss in the region of 15% of falls. They have now transferred to Vanguard and bought back in today. Mrs E has upped her pension contributions to 40% of salary and I bought a wee £500 of a Vanguard income fund that I plan to use as the first block in an Emergency Fund.We had a lovely trip to Alton Towers and got back just before the guidance on non-essential travel came out1

I have never been to Alton Towers!
