£1.12 paid off CC. That represents the sale of *2* of my cheapest CDs after fees and postage (less than that in reality, but I purchased packaging in January). Waste of time, I'll just donate to a charity shop next time I need space.

I miss the drool smiley.
I was just wondering if this is the regular type of cuisine at your house or whether you and Mrs E treated yourself to a meal out. Sorry for being nosy but it was the mention of the seaweed that piqued my interest. I really envied your TWO types of seaweed at the same meal. I absolutely love the stuff but eat it far too seldom. Nothing to beat freshly picked samphire from the mud flats (doesn't sound a very attractive location does it?) in North Norfolk, lightly steamed and with melted butter. Or even raw once washed well.. I'm drooling already. I've eaten other varieties of seaweed in Scandinavia and Ireland but find it very hard to come by in England. unless on rare holidays in Norfolk. Maybe it's widely available in shops and restaurants in the more cosmopolitan areas and, indeed, in Scotland, but in very rural England a very long way from the sea fresh seaweed is non-existent. This despite the fact that there are about 20 different varieties of edible seaweed in the UK. I know it would be available online from specialist suppliers but I expect the cost would nullify my pleasure in eating it.
Sorry you're still ill. I hope things improve very soon. There used to be a nice hot coffee smiley but with the new-look forum I can't find anything remotely like it.

Just regular cuisine in our house (although it was dried and rehydrated seaweed from South Korea)!
Am with you on the samphire - possibly my favourite foodstuff in the world1 -
Ooh .... I ordered samphire from a foodie pub on the North Norfolk coast a few years ago, and we decided it was left over from last week's delivery (tough, and 6 days old). Very glad to hear that people whose palate I respect really love it. I'll try again

I took a look online and it looks like you can order it year (from Norfolk) round if you've got enough cash! Not sure how that works, maybe someone has worked out how to farm it? It costs as much as good steak!I have tried my first current account switch (H@lifax to N@twest). Couldn't really be bothered and it didn't go through instantly (good old N@twest), so further paperwork required. The lure of £175 + £1/mth better rewards than my H@lifax account swung me.Mrs E has also said that I can sell an old games console that she has, should be worth £45-503

''........Without a doubt, freshness is paramount to the enjoyment, and once away from the water it will diminish fairly quickly. Many supermarkets will now sell samphire, some year round. This is not the same as fresh seasonal Norfolk samphire which is available only in July and August''.
The stuff we discovered and picked when out walking one day on holiday in Norfolk was really succulent-looking but we overdid it and picked more than we needed (well, it was a rare treat and free after all) so had to store some in the fridge for about 3 more days. DH isn't mad keen on it so I had to eat most of it myself. Not a problem though! The quality had definitely gone off when I eventually got to eat the last of it.. Serves me right for being so greedy!
I don't think I'll be ordering any especially as freshness is such an issue with it. I'll just have to contain myself until we go to Norfolk again. Just my luck for others to have discovered our little treasure trove and pinched the lot when we get there.4 -
