Another dreadful night - my throat and Adam's apple are both very swollen and it makes it difficult to talk, swallow or breathe properly. Mrs E is going to pick up soluble aspirin when she's out and ask pharmacist if they stock Tyrozets or similar products that will make my nights less miserable
I don't think it's tonsillitis (no pus-filled spots etc.)
Any lurgy thoughts? Only other symptoms are blocked/occasionally runny nose and sore head (although that could be sleep deprivation)!
She is also very kindly taking DD to drama and soft play today, so I'll get plenty of time to rest (note to self, go rest)....After much budget juggling, I've paid another £98.42 off the CC. As it's now the last day of the month (good riddance February), I can see that I've now paid off £2,358.96 this month, taking me nearer £4,000 than £5,000 (my original stretch goal). Now that the end is in sight, I can stop pretending to be excited about the vaccuum cleaner with the guard that stops long hair from getting trapped in the brush headWith 93 days to go until 1st June, I need to pay off c. £25.04 a day to pay off the CC with my 13th wage. Were I to have a super platinum stretch goal extreme, it would be to pay the whole thing off *without* my 13th wage, but I honestly don't think that's realistic (£45.58 a day until then). Still, never say never and all that. Also on the financial front, I'm using the MSE Cheap Energy Club to switch my tariff away from E0n, as they're robbing barstewards who want to put me on a new tariff that's c. £140 dearer than the competition because, I dunno, diamond-encrusted electricity or summat... I'll hopefully leave my FIT with them as I'm not moving to a Big whatever competitor and the FIT payments are the same regardless of who you use for supply.I think one of the next things to do financially might be to do the current account switch hokey cokey. I've avoided it previously because of an abortive attempt to move to HSBC, but think that we might be able to make c. £1,000 between us (we have 3-4 valid current accounts that could be switched). That may need to be the special sauce for our CC killing endeavours...Right, back to bed, have a productive one all.5 -
Cracking progress Ed, you've been averaging more than £45/day so why do you think it's so unachievable?
Sorry about the lurgy though, no suggestions other than bed and a hot toddy. Might not make you feel any better, but will probably make you feel a bit happier!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!4 -

Investment money used, eB@y clearout done bar a few cheap items etc.
Small FIT payment + council tax free month + cashback + CB + existing surplus basically comes to £2k.
Not sure we can trim £2k from budget in 3 months.
May basically a write off as DD's birthday and would rather delay final pay off by 1-2 months vs. Stint her. I have my priorities3 -
Have you tried chloraseptic (sp?) spray for your throat? It's an acquired taste (the blackcurrant is way more palatable than the original) but it numbs your throat so you can swallow. I've been using it since I was a teenager (so for around 35 years.....) - got me through school days/ exams/ work many a timeI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £202

I also quite like the texture, a mix of soft and chewyStill no proper sleep (6 nights and counting), so I'm halving my coffee intake today. I'm sure it's not the only factor, but I have fallen into a vicious circle of being knackered, drinking lots of coffee to compensate and then not sleeping. As it's the first of the month, will also do a stock up of disposable tissues, multivitamins and magnesium tablets (I find they help regulate my sleep). Also highly exciting, temperature probe wipes£257.39 paid off the CC - now less than £4,000!!! £21.54/day to pay the easy way, £43.28/day the hard way. Money juggling added a couple hundred squid to the CC budget, so will plow on!Hope everyone has a nice relaxing Sunday.4
