Well said Mothernerd, I couldn't agree more with the points you make. I had written a whole lot more, but deleted it as it would probably have got modded

Anyway, not a NSD today as I ordered some Christmas / birthday presents for grandchildren :)

OH is still in bed, so I am still getting my exercise running up and down the stairs. He has to get up tomorrow so that I can get him to the doctor's (wish me luck )

Trying to be organised though, as it makes me feel better, so I cleaned the kitchen thoroughly today, swept and washed the floor, cleaned the worktops, sink and the cooker top. Also planted garlic cloves in a big tub on the patio, did a load of washing and dried outside and used up food we have in / leftovers for meals, so even though it wasn't a NSD, I didn't add to my grocery etc spend :)

Also claimed a £5 gift card from a survey site, and sold a couple of small things on ebay :)

One minor annoyance though (actually 2, if you count OH :rotfl:) my wheelie bin has disappeared :( Not sure if it was stolen (do people steal wheelie bins??) or damaged and taken away by the bin men, but nowhere to be seen when I went to get it in. Rang the Council and it will take 20 working days to get a new one  I guess the bags will have to pile up in the garage til then, as the local recycling centre is closed for refurbishment. Just as well we don't produce much waste!

    Anyway, gratitudes:
A nice sunny day after the frost cleared, which enabled me to do a bit in the garden and get the washing mostly dry :)
    A clean kitchen :)
Food to eat and a warm house :)

    Hi all turtles :j

    Checking in: 8/30

NSDs: 4/15 Not today as did supermarket sweep before hairdressers, which I also had to pay for of course. Just lately he's taken to using me as a teaching aid for his new recruits...which involves him telling them what awful hair I have (I do!) and how it grows funny in this place, it's too fine, it lacks body, it is poker straight, it was old fashioned etc etc, today I learnt that I now have a very low forehead :rotfl: I did say to him the point of coming to the hairdressers was to feel better about myself, not worse....

    Organise
: Went with DH to get his pre-ordered plastic containers from Asda so of course did a shop there too. Only really wanted one item but came out with a lot more, but met up with an old friend...who years ago used to call my DH Sheddy McShed as he had so many sheds on the property. He's added more since then

Value for money - Not much achieved re this unless you count all meals made from leftovers...

Exercise - Does walking round lots of supermarkets count?? If so, result!

    Mental health - Good today.

Be Christmas ready - got a few Christmas food items with shopping but on checking some items found they go OOD before Christmas - not much use & I would have bought more. Need to start a separate area for this stash.

Eat well - Fine till friend turned up with (early) birthday cake for me & Fat Rascals for the Fat Rascal (sorry I mean DH) who did some copying from tape to DVD for her.....

Report - Gratitudes - Lovely bright day although a cold start. Got a kiss from the hairdresser even though he insulted me :rotfl: Lovely to see not one but two friends today for a catch up..
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear

    Morning all,

Thank you for all your well wishes. I got the ‘promotion’ it’s a maternity cover but covering someone who does the same job as me in a different area. Typically, as I work in a school they said they could not give me any time in my timetable for this extra work and are still considering how much they can afford to pay me, but it won’t be anywhere near what the role is worth as then I’d earn more than my line manager! They are giving me a new job title for the time too, hence how they can suddenly be paying me less for the role than it’s worth! However, it will be more money, it should start in two weeks and it provides continuity for the department and other staff. I’ve just got my fingers crossed that they don’t offer me a stupidly low amount as I will not be happy and will need to have difficult conversations!

Yesterday was spendy as I bought a takeaway but did walk the dogs in the light :) and got loads of work done.

    Hi all-

Today is NSD #4. Id like to be at 6 by next week.

Organise- have my list ready for the weekend. Need to get YS shopping and fill the freezer for winter. That will be ny mission next week

Value- wont be spending. Was sent a 2 pound m&s voucher though and have 5 pounds on a gift card so thats my back up plan to save a NSD when i next need a few bits.

Christmas- just waiting for my top up voucher to buy my final thing.

Excersize & eating- planning both. Doing insanity again tonight with hub

Mental health- doing fine, looking forward to some chill time on sat.

Had an extra tenner go in my acc i forgot about hurrah will put that away.

Yday I spent less filling my tank up than I budgeted for so put the extra cash towards an activity for the kids at c parcs. Fairly happy alll I need now is a bit of spends as I take my own food. Woohoo.

Today Im Greatful for- managing- it seems a lot of people struggle financially at this time of year and this site & the tips I get really make a huge difference to us. It hasn't always been so easy & Im greaful that although we don't have a lot, we have enough :) for my boy being so well behaved yesterday & for free Xmas activities

    :)

I had this problem ALL the time. I lost 3 bins in a very short amount of time because one of the men did not position it properly when it lifts them up and so catapulted it into the back of the bin. Once, I could have blamed the 'lip' of the bin, but 3 in 6 months (the black bin was collected every 3 weeks) was more than coincidence. User error.

    Day 9
I have been unable to report in the last couple of days as on Tuesday my Mum had a fall in the flat and I found her on the floor when I got home from work. I did phone my friend to go round to call through the door but she did not get a response. My friend called the ambulance while I saw to my Mum. Ambulance took Mum to A&E. She has broken her right shoulder and is going to take 6 weeks or more to heal. Going to have therapy to help her mobility. I have given up my temp job. My Mum is more important than work at the moment. Phoned all relevant family members regarding my Mum. My brother and sister are coming down from where they live to see her. They live about 3 hours away driving. She will have to have an after care plan in place but I will find out probably next Monday what the plan of action is. I am going to visit her every day that she is in hospital to keep her company even when she has a little sleep.
I will carry on with this challenge as I really now have to budget even more now that I am not working.
Mental health - getting worried and stressed about my Mum. Am not blaming her for this as I love her very much and her health is more important. I will have to catch up with rest and sleep as I will not be any use to her when she is discharged.
    Grateful for:
My Mum being looked after in hospital by the staff.
For my family who are supporting me by what they can do.
    For my friend.

NSD 4 today!! Nothing to be bought. Everything I need is here.
Organise - Still trying to fix a re-mortgage offer, checking the broker deal with the direct deal, and then going back to who I am with now, and asking them to match/better it. Takes time and effort and it is soooooo boring, but I really want the best deal
Value for Money - not buying anything and all books from charity shops
Exercise- (drawing a discrete veil over this one)
Mental Health - Good thanks, cold nose, warm heart.
    Be Xmas Ready - erm.......
    Eat Well - done
    Report daily - here miss!
