Thank you! Eventually this is what I want to do with food shopping and petrol as its a budgeted must have monthly amount will perhaps start this in January. I used to work for a credit card company and if you use your card you are covered for things more that you would be using a debit card so I know I will still use it just need rules about what goes on it and clearing in full! Will be interesting to see how much I can earn in vouchers just buy using it for groceries and petrol for one year.... I feel like they owe me!!Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Day 10, checking in....
NSD - Still 6/12, as I did a food shop today. Also bought a dressing gown for OH and a new pair of slippers for me, both items were needed.
Organise - Grocery budget now on £176.18 /£250. Went to both Lidls and Sainsburys as I couldn't get everything in Lidls. Still managed to forget a couple of items  Booked a chimney sweep for my poorly wood stove, though he can't come till 1 December. Hope this fixes the problem, though he will be able to advise if not, as he is a stove installer as well.
Declutter - Just some odd bits of paper to the recycling today - it all helps
Value for money - Although it is a pain to go to 2 supermarkets, it is worth it as Lidls is so much cheaper for most things, and I can get the bulk of my shop there. Have to top up elsewhere due to non-availability of some things though. I used a few coupons for extra points in Sainsburys - I am saving my nectar points towards Christmas food shop
Exercise - Just dog walks today.
Mental Health - Feeling a bit more cheery today
Planning for Christmas - Nothing I can think of today
Eat Well - Not done too badly today - found HM chilli in the freezer that I had forgotten about, so didn't need to cook, apart from a couple of jacket potatoes and cutting a salad :T
Grateful for - Dog making me laugh - he doesn't like leaves on his fur, and to his horror he was confronted with FLYING LEAVES on this windy autumn day :rotfl:
Managing to get a chimney sweep's appointment - should have sorted it earlier but OH argued he would do it, then hurt his back before he did soAt least it should be done well before Christmas
Surprise chilli freezer find :T0 -
Hi everyone, MIA 4 days now, chest infection in full swing :-( but still committed so;
Tue
5/18NSDs
Organize - sorted through some nightwear and gave some we have outgrown my sis & niece, they are both smaller than me and my daughter and don't mind hand me downs.
Value for money - did the above because someone gave us 2 dressing gowns, win win
Exercise - nopety nope nope, poorly, just about made it through the work day.
Mental health - is holding up despite feeling like crapola
Be Christmas ready - I have my sons birthday next week so that's priority this week.
Eat well - yes, we don't have control over everything but this we do so we eat well except from Saturdays
Thankful for - that health problems are only minor
Wed
Still 5/18NSDs did my fresh top up
Organise - sorted through some paperwork, I have to sort a balance transfer out for a 0% that has ended
Value for money - spent frugally today and got just what I needed
Exercise - as above
Mental health - is still holding up although I do feel a dip in my mood, everything seems a struggle at the moment
Be Christmas ready - still nothing until I have sorted sons gift
Eat well - yes
Thankful for - 2 more days at work then I'm off :T
Thurs
6/18NSDs - no spends today but I have found a gift for son that i will order tomorrow so I don't lose a nsd
Organize - I have tomorrow and all next week off so will do an awful lot of this then even though I feel like poop
Value for money - the gift I found was actually a gift set for same price as just the aftershave
Exercise - defo not on the horizon at the moment
Mental health - its hard trying to stay chipper but I am so looking forward to being off I think i'm gonna be fine
Be Christmas ready - still a work in progress
Eat well - haven't eaten properly today as I feel rotten
Thankful for - my daughter who did a laundry load and dinner too
Today
Still 6/18NSDs I did my weekly shop today and just bought the essentials
Organise - will menu plan for next week and hopefully feel up to batch cooking Sunday
Value for money - got reduced pie and mince to stick in freezer
Exercise - absolutely no chance, I don't feel any better.
Mental health - feeling ok today, mum and dad took me out for lunch and announced that I didn't need to repay them the last bit of money I owed for a car repair.
Be Christmas ready - still ongoing, this is probably sounding boring now but I really don't need to be doing anything just yet
Eat well - lunch was amazing, no chips so I'd say I ate well
Thankful for - mum & dad & their generosity
Sorry for the long post but I am committed to getting straight so didn't miss any days out even though I haven't been on. I have to sort finances out and make sure I start an emergency fund as I really did not like accepting them writing off what I owe today but they weren't having and of my protests. They are not well off, they just get by like me although unlike me they do have an emergency fund.
I have took a few extra hours a week at work on contract and that will kick in on my next pay which coincides with a pay rise but what you've never had you don't miss so I am going to allocate this extra pay wisely. Debt busting starts in the new year with positivity :j0 -
Kerry - good to hear that your mum is telling you off! Keep on looking after yourself, especially sleeping. It sounds like she'll have lots of visitors, which can reduce the amount you have to do some days.
Today I am grateful for finding walking boots in my size in aldee (they came out yesterday as a special offer and there were only 2 pairs left this morning- I was sooo lucky!), for dd liking the school we visited, for getting most of a robin doorstop made, for a long chat with big sis, for making a phone call that needed doing, for having a warm house and central heating, for the friend-of-a-friend who did some cleaning in mum's house making it all 'sparkling' according to big sis, for my new walking boots meaning that I'll no longer get soggy feet as my current ones are so worn through on the soles, for the weekend.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Managed a no spend day but ended up giving DS £10 for food! So not sure that that means I have spent in the end.
But at least I have managed another day out of the supermarket. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Planning a much more relaxed day (thank God) for tomorrow. I need to go m&s and do a bit of washing but I dont have a lot to do at all. This week has been full on so I am really looking forward to it. I have packed a picnic for during the day, allocated spending money for the fair snd drawn it out in cash (to make sure I stick to our limit) and prepped tea ready to shove in the slow cooker in the morning.
It worked really well this week having a list of weekly jobs to get through. Next week I will aim to-
Phone the bank re my switch
Make some mince pies for freezing
Stock up on YS products for the freezer
Make a list of food i need to eat
I am also thinking of things i dont use enough. Id like to get another visit in to "the deep" use my english heritage card as much as possible and take the kids out on their electric car more.0 -
Hi all turtles :j
Checking in: 10/30
NSDs: 6/15 Yes no spends today again (polishes halo)
Thanks for the hamper suggestion BadBookkeeper - I do already do a HM hamper for him but I will think about what goes into it & maybe put some more expensive items in it, rather than just my HM offerings. May also knit him some socks, but don't know his foot size...
Organise: Right now operation clear the dining room so that I can paint it (hopefully) & the new carpet s due to be fitted next Wednesday.....It's a bit like musical chairs atm with moving stuff from hither & yon, but it needs to be done. Cleared a space in the cellar & chucked out a couple of bags of rubbish. Then got one of the plastic containers down there & filled with the Christmas goodies - it's quite full already. Moved the wool mountain - I think it's been breeding whilst my back was turned tbh - & also random groceries from the console type thingy. Now have to clear the crockery from the display units so we can move those out nearer the time...
Value for money - Ordered some clothing items but I input the wrong number off the back of my card (done this before fgs I only have 2 I need to remember!). They have been trying to contact me to get the correct number, but in the meantime I read the reviews & they weren't good - fabric flimsy, skimped on cut etc etc. Also I found one from last year still in the packaging, very similar. Plus today I received a birthday voucher from them & also 25% off code ..so I will let that order lapse & re-order missing off the tops that I now don't want so it should be a lot cheaper. Also use TCB although it rarely tracks..
Exercise - In & down those cellar steps a fair few times I can definitely feel it..
Mental health - all good
Be Christmas ready - Happy that the dining room refit made me realise we already have lots in so will need just mainly fresh stuff.
Eat well - Stuck to plan today
Gratitudes - Nice food & all from stores, found winter trousers so no need for more. A (very faint) light at the end of the declutter tunnel..New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0 -
Morning all!
Thank you for the tips re DD's phone. After a night in rice it worked, but she has been warned now, I can't keep running in circles.
Value for Money A friend invited me for a lunch catch up, but they messed up the order so much we got our money back, extra free drinks and the correct food order for free too.
Yesterday was therefore an unexpected SFD, because I managed to loose my card.
Nothing much else to report on, hope you all have a good Saturday.Debt Free April 2019:j to July 2019NEW WTC:eek:1,194
