If it had been done this way for a family with 4 children, you would have a car that started with one registered keeper change to one with five registered keepers in the space of a few years which would affect the value of the car. False economy to save a tenner in my view...

    A tenner a month. 30p/day.

Everything nowadays is pushed as "only a few pence a day", from charity subscriptions to gambling, add them all up and multiply by 365 and you soon realise why so many people have "no money" :(

If only you could tax by the day! £10 a month minimum, mine is over £20 per month

    ???

You gave your daughter the car 3 months before the tax expired, but then taxed it after it expired?

So your daughter was driving around for 3 months in a car not registered to her? So your point of the insurance being dearer still stands does it not?

Because the insurance company asked the question "Will the car be registered in her name". You can be sure that if you answered "NO", the price would go UP.

Lying to the car insurance company too.

If a car has had an extra keeper or two but it has remained within the same family, any sensible buyer is going to recognise the benefit of the family history of the car.

She was a named driver on her sister's insurance policy and it was the insurance company that suggested that they swap over the Policy at the time of the renewal which was just a couple of days before the end of the month when the tax ran out. We advised the insurance company that we were in the process of switching the keeper on the car and they were happy with that. :rotfl:

NO:D SEE MY PREVIOUS REPLY, THE INSURANCE COMPANY KNEW EVERYTHING AND ACTUALLY ADVISED WAITING UNTIL THE RENEWAL TO SWITCH THE POLICYHOLDER. DO YOU ALWAYS JUMP TO INCORRECT CONCLUSIONS. :p
