Congratulations, you'll never be impressed with takeaway again! ;)
My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

Thanks - I am feeling quite smug at the moment! Now I just need to find some proper pepperoni - I have a hard time finding the good stuff here in the UK.

    Any suggestions?

oh you know, flung it around in the air a few times... :p

We don't have a proper oven ATM so cooked it in my Ramoska - it has a big round pan and I kind of spread the dough out until it touched the edges. You can see my little 1950's Baby Belling in the picture - the largest pan it will take is 8" square so no good for pizzas unless they are tiny! It's a great little oven otherwise, but am quite glad of having the Ramoska.

This has just inspired me to put a pizza dough in the BM:D Havent done one for a couple of months now.

They are so scrummy and have a couple of packets of mozarella in the freezer that need using and had all ingredients in the cupboard, so another free meal:T ....or lunch!

the only place we have been able to get decent pepperoni (the only pizza topping in my humble opinion) is in makro...its obviously in bigger packs but we bring it home and sort it into portions then freeze.

i find that the polish or similar shops have lots and lots of different salami and what not. try putting the sliced meat under the cheese or if your feeling extra inventive try three meat.

base-meat-thicktomsauce-meat-cheese-then whatever you want on top.....
If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.

Lidl do a big thick salami which I used on pizza last night. £2.39 for 650g of smoked paprika pork - the equivalent in Sainsburys would have been £3.60. Remember to remove the skin from the slices!
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
  • Just thought I'd share the fact that last night I took inspiration from this board, printed off the recipies and made a meal plan, and went shopping for the week, spending £18something from my £20 budget I'd set myself :D My eventual target is £10-15, but its a good start!
Last night I made le bf & I HM pizza, which was a) yummy and b) I can't beleive how cheap!! And easy! And so much less greasy than take away...
Tonight I think spag bog, made with turkey mince, and I'll make meat balls with that mince too to freeze. Also - will salmon fishcakes (mash, tinned salmon, red onion) freeze uncooked? If so will make those today too... Even bought enough for my work lunches @ weekend, brekkie, packed lunch when we go to Warwick castle...
Very pleased with selve (esp as bf liked Pizza so much... will wean him off his ready meals...) - thanks to this board! :T
