    Hi
When I make HM pizza I make the base from Strong flour, water and yeast and some olive oil

for the tomato sauce I use some tomato puree mixed with a little water (DSD doesnt like it too tomatoey (sp) ) and this is the best tomato base I have found she likes - if it us only then I use tinned toms reduced down with herbs and garlic

sprinkle a small amount of cheese on base add toppings

I make 2 when making for the 4 of us

1 - half cheese and tomato and half pepperoni

    2. - pepperoni, peppers, onion, mushroom, chicken if available

Top with a little more grated cheese and some torn mozzarella

Always goes down a treat never any leftovers

Instead of a traditional yeast based dough for base, I use a more scone based mix - regular SR flour with some olive oil drizzled in, salt, herbs and mix to soft dough. This base is quicker to make and I find is more popular with kids as it is softer than yeast base.

Also a traditional tomato sauce used for pasta works well with some additional flavour thrown in - namely organo and black pepper.

Kids like hot dog sausage on pizza.

Made my first home made pizza last night - including the base using a really quick and easy recipe. Put some red/green peppers, red onion, sweetcorn and cheese on it. Took hardly any time to make and it was gorgeous!! Even hubby agreed!

No more expensive store bought or dominos pizzas for me!

    Well done weegie:j

Hubby makes pizzas pretty often in our household, making the dough in the breadmaker, and freezing leftover dough for next time.
