Paying for seats on a plane

I would pay a nominal £10 or £15 to reserve a seat, but on our last flight BA wanted £99 per person, each way, to reserve seats in business class. Complete rip off.0

People who do this are a bit snobby in general. Same with speedy boarding. Do people really have nothing better to spend money on?0

well we are talking abouit budget airlines after all. I am surprised they haven't added a surcharge for overweight people by now.
Expect to pay for absolutely everything extra. The saving grace is that they're short haul so you wont have to suffer too long. Just put a film on your laptop and you'll be at your destination before it ends.
Wouldn't really work for flights for 5+ hours though, would be a drain to be sat apart from your other passengers.0 -

Bit harsh.
I always reserve seats, and its always the back row, aisle and middle next to the toilet.
What frustrates me is the amount of people that then come up and say "Would you mind swapping seats so I can sit next to X who has the window seat?"0 -

I think that if I were being charged extra to reserve seats in business class, I'd be looking for a different airline.0 -
On easyJet I often select my seat for free by being the last passenger to board and choosing from those available (not possible on a full flight of course). I'll always give up my preferred seat if it helps others by swapping.Evolution, not revolution0

I was using a two for one voucher and it was an Avios redemption. In any other situation, I would fly American Airlines who have a much better business class and don't charge you to reserve a seat.0
