    Morning camz, Happy New Year!

Just caught up on your diary - Great news on the debt busting front! You seem to have as much drama in your life as my sister does in hers! I once told her I had given up watching soaps as her dramas and rantings on FB were much more entertaining! lol

Got to love dreams - can you control yours and change where they go?

Woke up hangover free yesterday.... not surprising as I had slept for 12 hours!!

Need to get my ar5e in gear - off to Barcelona in March for a hen-do.... Aside from the mother-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-groom I will be the oldest and don't want to feel too outta shape.... healthy eating and more exercise here I come! (and drink more water too!)

Did you total up your NYE spend??
    start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225

I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!

I never publicise my stuff on facebook etc - that's way too much for me! I think this threads the most honest I've ever been in life. If you hadn't read this thread and met me day to day, you'd all think I was such a nice guy. I do think sometimes that I've been gifted good looks and a fairly charming personality to fool people into trusting me, as messed up as that is lol. I don't see some all good God creating me anyway, I enjoy causing drama lol - which is probably why I have so much!

I have no control over my dreams, I just have to take what is given to me.

    NYE spend £88.78.
I can drink and eat a hella lot, I finished NYE in my bed eating 2 large mcdonalds meals & 9 nuggets to myself. I think I may have had a double cheeseburger as well, but the memory is a bit vague. I'm not spending anything in Jan on events, and I don't really feel bad about the spend - it had to be done.

You could lose around 8/9kg (approx 18-20lbs) by March with a bit of work I think. I like to reiterate, a diet is a lifestyle change, it does not mean to change entirely the way that you eat, e.g. to stopping eating bread, cutting out all carbs, never touching rice, or whatever else. I have a fat housemate who goes on a diet and boasts about how she hasn't eaten bread in 2 weeks. This happened a few weeks ago, I went in the kitchen cut a baguette in half and sat in front of her stuffing it down me, shovelling butter on it... Eating bread isn't like a magic fairy that makes you fat, in fact bread is quite low calorie, eating 3 slices of bread is going to make you less fat than eating an avocado, but she shovels that on everything, dumba*s lol.

Everything is good in moderation. I like to think that 75% of my diet comes from the good stuff, like fruit, veg, lean meats, nuts, wholegrains etc, but then 25% is chocolate, crisps, coca cola, pizza etc. Some days (likely once a week) it's probably a more 70% bad mix, but the following day I eat a tonne of salad etc.

Just done some ebay sales, will flow into when I do my debt calculations. I'm considering selling my laptop also, but I do use it, but I have a phone and work laptop - so not absolutely essential I have it.

Oh should have said, MBNA extended my credit, and offered me 6.9% for 2 years, so £3500 moving to my Natwest loan at 18.9%. This brings most of my debt down to 6.9% APR, which is great. Hopefully I will be able to get some 0% deals also, but atm the checkers are all showing low eligibility.

    Great news!

Your NYE spend is not at all bad! Mine was around £70.

Keep going with the fleabay selling - it does make a real difference!

My target loss is 14lb! There is no risk of me "dieting" ... I love food far too much! I am away from home for the next week, and find cooking for myself a real chore so I am planning on chicken + veg, or fish + veg for most dinners, with natural full fat yoghurt + fruit and nuts in between. Lunch will be something like a sandwich or wrap, made at home! Fully aware that my 'extra' calories come from alcohol consumption... so this will be seriously curbed for the foreseeable! More water will also be consumed. Need to get back to circuits and ideally one more class (or a run) each week! Anyway, enough of me hi-jacking your diary!

Steer away from the alcohol for sure!
I only drink socially tbh, as I don’t wanna be the guy who doesn’t drink when out - those people annoy me! Maybe do the same?

I really don’t like alcohol, it’s so anti gains! Try to limit your sugar if at all possible, remember the only thing that can process sugar is the liver by releasing insulin. Insulin is the fat storing hormone.

When you consume sugar, your body stops burning fat, and instead focuses on trying to deal with the sugar rush. Insulin is released to process it, and insulin is the fat storing hormone. It processes the sugar by storing it as fat.

The problem with a diet coke and other diet drinks is that your body is expecting sugars, so you release insulin and stop the fat burning process. So even though it’s zero calorie you now have the fat storing hormone running around your body.

In the 80s they made a huge mistake by making everything fat free. Manufactures knew when you remove the fat things taste disgusting, so they replaced the fat with sugar - and the obesity levels soared.

Calories are important for sure, but sugar is a real pain. Unless you use the energy right away, it will 100% be fat.

I have about 100 bottles of fizzy water which I grab instead of a coke... don’t get me wrong I still have coke etc sometimes.

  • Thoughts re the laptop two things both which will bring you money.

Number one if you havent done so already join top cashback.co.uk i earned 170 on there last year.

Number two once you have done that check out music magpie they buy tech like laptops and are paying 2-3 percent. Just an alternative thought too ebay and you dont pay postage and selling fees.

Chuck in some green tea into the mix 2-3 times a day and just watch your carbs after 730pm and i am sure the 14lbs will come off. Its easily doable.

Anything other than green tea? I used to drink it but it started to affect my skin... and not in a good way! I did some research and it seems to be a reaction between something in the tea and female hormones (it was like I woke up every morning and someone had buttered my face! GRIM) I'm all for trying different teas.... lemon and ginger a current favourite!

Thoughts on the laptop.... if you don't need it, sell it. How about not using it for a fortnight and see how you get on. If you miss it, keep it...if you don't, sell it. No point selling it, regretting it and then spending more money to buy a replacement!
