Sorry I haven't been contributing, but I have been flying. I turfed out my wardrobe and chest of drawers this morning and took an enormous pile of stuff to the CS including shoes that I'm obviously never going to wear again.

*Healing vibes* for your sinusitis, Ionafan.
I can feel motivation is flagging today (grey drizzle isn't helping either)

    Still let's do something!

The motivation does flag a bit, which is why we're here, cheering each other on.

Sorry your self-catering hols haven't been perfect, ATB. I'm not sure holidays are all they're cracked up to be tbh. It takes me an age to get everything organised for us to go away, with the result that I'm always utterly exhausted by the time we go. That's then followed by a few bad nights sleep in any bed other than my own, and the sheer tedium of faffing around at airports .... I can't be arrised any more, I really can't.
    Better is good enough.

Window shopping turned into actual buying shopping. But we did get some dreaded C-word presents, so not all lost. When we got back I dusted and vacc'd through downstairs, including the cobwebs that seemed to have materialised from the kitchen ceiling. Downstairs loo s&s. WM just finishing running a clean cycle. HH paperwork turned into the full hour and some, and now the laptop is running yet another update. I suppose that we had better have some dinner at some point but I really cba to think about it.

Note to self - new vacuum cleaner bag not only lifts the kitchen flooring, but can pull off the horrible wallpaper as well.!! I wsn't actually deliberately cleaning the wallpaper, I was chasing the above cobweb and the nozzle slipped. Whoops.

Lounged around this morning until I decided I needed food and didn't want the junk left in the fridge, so trundled off on the bus to middle class heaven. It's half term here, so anywhere that is likely to have small, unhappy children in it and special offer displays every five foot and on the corners to trip over, is frankly unappealing.

Got myself lots of veggies to turn into soup, plus some bits Himself will recoil from, so I actually get to have things I like for a change. Also got the felines some very posh food because the boxes were too dented for nice, middleclass cats to consume, along with their usual stupidly packaged, anthropomorphic, gluten free, superfood infused, kibble - it's not my fault the Grumpy Fluffy One develops gut rot at the first taste of normal meat blobs and crunchies.

And spent an absolute fortune on mouthwash, toothpaste, hand gel and antibacterial wipes - got my first horrid luminous yellow poison injection this evening, so need to make sure that I don't remove the lining of my mouth when I get ulcers, I don't really fancy using the old toothpaste because Himself shaved his head in there last night, so there are bits of stubble stuck to the bits he never wipes off the top, and I simply don't trust him to keep the germ levels down when I've just found a pan full of leftover mash left on the hob overnight, despite all my stropping about the state of the kitchen and cleaning at the weekend.

Still got about six hours before he gets in. I think I'll get some soup going and then vacuum upstairs.

ETA: soup done. You wouldn't know I've been in the kitchen - because I cleaned up as I went along.

nowt wrong with that.. I leave most stuff overnight on the hob.. covered .. bolognaise last night. Not killed anyone yet! I left cooked chicken under the grill for 24 hours the other day.. then fed it to the boys.

I do all manner of 'naughty' stuff with food storage lol.. I'm sure a lot of it is over-hyped rubbish with a squillion to one one chance of happening but as a precaution we will advise this and change our minds next week.

    Healing vibes for kaz.
    Hurry-up-and-get-it-over-with vibes for pigpen's next-door [STRIKE]builders[/STRIKE] wreckers.
Hope your kitchen has miraculously cleaned itself, Valli!
Well done on the flinging, HB :j

Progress report for today, after a very disturbed night (I began coughing at 3 am and spent the rest of the night on the sofa yet again):
    - got up late
    - took Rosie for a walk between showers
    - went to SW to weigh in, but arrived too late, so turned round to come home again
    - bumped into an old friend who I'd been thinking of only an hour previously, and stood chatting to her for 30 minutes
    - came home and sorted a few (a very few) papers
    - went back to weigh in at start of second SW group and caught up with more old friends there
    - came home, had breakfast at 12 and then slept for 2 hours (on the sofa, of course)
    - cooked and ate lunch
    - tidied and dusted all through downstairs, including a thorough clean of the ensuite; DH hoovered everywhere, then I steam mopped the kitchen floor and put the coffee table in the LR and the dining table back in their proper places (he'd not bothered to do that).
    - did a bit more paperwork
    - took Rosie for another walk, but the rain was too heavy for her liking (that's some Carpathian mountain dog!!! - obviously the street dog mentality takes over at the first sign of a grey cloud, and she just wants to hole up in the dry) so we came home after the short walk equivalent instead of going all the way to the field
    - cooked and ate tea
    - prepared and cooked soup for the charity AGM lunch tomorrow - at least I'm ahead on that one!
    - talked to DH's cousin for half an hour on the phone: we have to go to South Wales for a family funeral next week, so one of tomorrow's jobs will be to sort out the best arrangements for Rosie.

As you can see, unfortunately reading has taken a back seat again...

DH wants to watch GBBO with me when he gets in from model railway club. I might be in bed by then!

Not when there was a small flock of flies zooming around the place, it was uncovered and I'm now injecting Methotrexate each week.

(and, because I'm a grumpy cow, because the only reason every meal from last week and the week before isn't still festering in the kitchen is that I cleaned them up at the weekend).

Are there a disgusting number of fruit flies these last few years or am I just a grub?? I dont ever recall seeing such things ever until the last few years.

    DW on.. again

And a snot has spilled a full beaker of juice on my clean laundry.. and I caught the cat widdling in a box of ebay stuff.. she is now wearing a boot up her nethers!
