Thanks Piggers. Most annoying part is we've been here twice before (relatives house) and each time DH and I have had the same arguments and we've all been homesick! Will I ever learn. Spent money we can ill afford coming here too. Sigh.
And €11 on calpol
I'll be a very happy ATB in 48 hours time when it's our final night! Sorry for the moan. Had texts from a couple of friends saying 'are you having an amazingly chilled out time?' Urmm no my kids are 5 and 3 I only relax on my own sofa on an evening nowadays! Rant over, off to dispense said calpol.
Thank you xxxMFW

Oh, ATB, big hugs sweetie xx. This was the first year that I put my foot down ( just lightly) and said that I wasn't going to cook EVERY night that we were away. We went out for lunch twice...not much, but a minor victory - and we've been going there for 5 years!! In that time I have also got to know where the hospital, the doctor and the best chemist is!
Just back from work. DH has already left for a week away with work, but he did hang up the washed towels (which I set off in WM before going to work) and emptied DW ( yes, you guessed, which I set running). Stuff which he "couldn't find a home for" has been safely put back in the cupboards where it has always lived. Green bin is out, just the kitchen bin to do later then the black bin can join it. The kitchen actually isn't looking too bad, but then I haven't cooked yet.
Another one here not on FB, so I guess that probably precludes me from the Christmas card list. Also I think I'm still earning my flylady stripes!
DD is listening to my old Fleetwood Mac LP. Does that make me old or cool??!0 -
ATB.. set out the rules before you go again .. say exactly what his responsibilities are and that they are not negotiable, you're not the maid and is it your holiday too not just his and the childrens.. and above all.. stick to it!! If possible save some extra money to eat out.. we ate out almost every day and had a picnic lunch.. it is so much easier.. I was simply not being the only one not on holiday, I find not being at home horrendously stressful and I ended up crying to come home more than once.. but on the whole it wasnt too traumatic... and I did book for next year!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Aww atb I was thinking about you yesterday imagining you would be having a lovely time. Think Bossy is away too. I dont think there is an easy way of doing holidays when they are small. We have done a lot of self catering because of DSs health but next year I am determined that we will go abroad and eat out every day ... I will find the money somehow!
Good day at the paid stuff. A meeting that I was worried about is over and some IT problems solved. Everyone is fed, I am waiting for DW to finish to be emptied and reloaded rather than washing it all up.
In the meantime I am doing some paid stuff for an hour.0 -
Himself has cleaned the kitchen after use three times since last night - and swept the floor twice.

It's hygienic enough to be able to go straight in there and cook something without half an hour decontaminating the place first
He's apparently sorting things out in the spare room at present. I think I might sneak another washload on whilst his back is turned.
Now, I know I was at the hospital for a bit this afternoon (3 hours out in all, including a short potter round a shop buying base coat and nail file as my claws are looking appalling after two days immersed in water and cleaning fluids), but he seems to have actually done something useful in that time. What happened?
However, he's out at rehearsals all tomorrow. I shall take the opportunity to get the vacuum cleaner out and perhaps clean the inside of a couple of our massive windows with proper old fashioned Windolene. And I get the kitchen to myself.
So pathetic that this fills me with joy, isn't it?
PS: Suggestion for Kitchen List - brush/vacuum the coils at the back of the fridge, especially if you have felines/mutts, as they're currently moulting out their summer coats for the winter pelt to take its place. Mine looked like it had fallen onto Grumpy Fluffy Cat from a great height and pancaked her across the back to a thickness of about half an inch. It means you get a quick heads up for blockages/leaks and any pestilence scuttling around, too (none here, thankfully).
The eight legged lodger on the kitchen ceiling has started paying rent. Not enough though (where are these flies coming from? There is nothing to attract them), even with his lanky mate setting up stall above the bathroom door - before Himself gently relocated him in the garden. Note: I was scared or anything like that, I had just got into the bath when I saw him and I don't think the neighbours would appreciate the sight of me soggy and naked whilst carrying a large arachnid in a glass into the garden.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Got a bit of flying done today. A few tasks in the kitchen and catching up a bit more with laundry. The car is showing an error message & says battery not charging - husband thinks the alternator belt has gone so need to try and get that to the garage and little one to childminders tomorrow somehow. Just hope the saying bad luck comes in threes isn't true this time!0

Evening all x
Hope you are all well xx
ATB That's not nice it's your holiday too. You should get time off as well. Huge hugs honey xx
Made the beds this morning before leaving for work and made the sandwiches. Was running around like an idiot as I kept hitting snooze! Did the Mr T shop on the way home, got DD out to dancing class, loaded WM, took yesterday's washing off the winterdyke and put it past, emptied WM and hung on the winterdyke, kitchen tidied and s/s, bathroom tidied up and s/s. Fed myself a bowl of cereal as DD ate at her pals and I CBA cooking for myself.
Off to watch telly for half hour till DD gets dropped off. Sweet dreams all xI'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
