Ha atb play doh! Swap with me. I sleepily told DH to be careful where he was putting his feet as I heard him getting out of bed to go to the loo early this morning. I heard DS being sick during the night (alcohol induced) and there was no guarantee that the bathroom floor escaped unharmed. DS is nearly 19 so in theory should be growing out of this by now shouldnt he? Has to be said that the bathroom was spotless and smelling strongly of bleach by the time I got up.

DS2 has just signed up to play footie for a local team so DS1 and DH have gone to watch him leaving me home alone. Absolute, complete and utter bliss.

Have walked the dog, done lots of laundry and sorted the airing cupboard. Big bag of stuff for CS.

Brew next. Then maybe my book, or some online Christmas shopping, or not sure what else.

  • Goodness me where are you all?! Busy flying I'm sure :p

Had a great night at a Halloween party last night, slightly too much wine though :o and the kids were up fairly early so I'm a bit tired. Sunny day here so a load in WM. Need to empty the DW and assemble some lunch shortly.

DS back to pre school tomorrow, DD on inset day but she is going out for the day with a relative so will have some time to crack on.

    Have lovely days all xx

  • After promising myself a few weeks ago that I’d be a good flylady - I haven’t!

Kitchen became a huge drama getting done as I tried to save money by organising everything myself and it took ages to get all done - I painted it myself, white from a fairly deep blue. Bought Dulux Once paint and it needed 4 coats :(

I was painting it at night after work and after the 4th coat I managed to see it in daylight - blurry bulb in kitchen light was throwing off a blue tinge. The wall was glowing white in natural light

thankfully all done now and I’m delighted. :T
  • Hi flyfriends x
Sorry not caught the thread I'm still on page 4! Will catch up when I have a mo.
Had my auntie round yesterday and DD had friends staying last night so I've not had a minute.
    So far today I have
    Made my bed
    Sorted breakfast
Washed bathroom window inside and out
Scrubbed everywhere in the bathroom including doors and light switches
    Cleaned mirror in there too
Just the floor to do now will fill a bucket soon.

Off to start on the LR and then the scullery if anyone wants to join me for an HHC I'm starting now!
    I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged

I disagree; you've decluttered a paint job you didn't like, and that took a lot of work to get rid of. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done. ;)

  • Hi all

Up early so have done my November budget (which doesnt look great), taken a load of stuff to the tip and charity shop, done some food shopping, dusted and hoovered a bit. Now having a little rest before I do any more.

Showery here but DSs bedding is out on the line, it can go in the tumbler to finish off later.

Oh and I feel slightly guilty and need to confess. When we bought our first house (22 years ago) Mum and Dad bought us a vase that I had seen in a local shop as a housewarming present. It was very big and very distinctive and I loved it. When we redid the living room a couple of years ago the vase didnt look right, in fact I decided that I didnt really like it that much any more. Mum asked me where it was and I said it had gone in a cupboard for now. I came across it yesterday and have taken it to the charity shop on the basis I did get a lot of pleasure out of it once but cant ever see us having it out on display again. Mum and Dad would be horrified but I hope it finds a new home.

Looks like rain again. Need to sort the clean laundry and put it away. In a minute ..

YL Don't feel guilty; this is what is termed as "the give-away" and is a good thing to do. You have identified something that is no longer an appropriate part of your life - it has done it's work for you, and now needs to move on. You have given it the chance to make a new owner happy; and a deserving cause will benefit also.
