Enjoy your new guest LW xx

    Busy busy day :A
    - cleaned the kitchen a million times after prepping what has felt like a million meals!
    - three loads line dried, two in TD
    - small top up food shop and extra Halloween bits bought (note to self, get next years outfits in sale again at Asda on Wednesday :rotfl:)
    - two hours business admin for DH
    - took grandma food shopping, for her hair cutting and to a few shops for bits and pieces

Nicest part of the day was my lovely grandma has bought me a Himalayan salt lamp! I've been after one for ages and I'm so chuffed.

Righty, off to feed kiddies and DH can re-make DD bed with clean linen. He can bath them too :p xx

Thankfully, himself is capable of pointing what needs to be pointed in the correct direction at all times.
I'm envious. I feel like putting a notice up in the loo - "We aim to please. Will you aim, too, please?"

And why do I have it in my head today that he's going to die? I haven't thought that since the diagnosis and we were told it isn't life threatening. I cant talk to Dave about it as it will upset him.

Someone think of a name I can call this cancer of his..so I don't have to call it that..

Sorry I'm being a right pity person today..
Sweetie, it's because of the C word. And, look, you're not alone - since Mr LW has developed this persistent cough that he's had for over a year and is only now being referred to a "specialist" for, I am convinced that one morning I'm going to wake up and find him lying dead beside me. :(
*Thinks*...... When Sir Terry Pratchett got his Alzheimers diagnosis, he referred to it as an "Embu88erance". Would that fit the bill?

    :T:T:T

I completed everything on my list today except the 2nd lot of paperwork :D
  • TD and DW on final loads of the day, in bed now with hot water & honey. I get the lie-in tomorrow as I'm getting up with the kids on Sunday when the clocks go back (shuddering at the memory of last years 4.30am wake up call from DS already )

    Night all xx

Oh God's Jojo I hope Dave doesn't get the sickness with it..hes been told to ring 999 if he gets nausea..why?? Can't he just be sick..aktjough it would be no good as I can't handle anyone being sick. And I definitely can't clear it up.. We do have a spotless toilet as the cleaner deep cleans it and I keep it clean inbetween.

It's less likely, especially as it sounds like he's already been OK in that sense on the tablet version, Natty. Sounds more like they're monitoring him carefully - being on any form of the drug or related ones pretty much guarantees you instant access to treatment, no matter how low the dose - and it might be a catch all 'if you feel really ill for any reason, just get here' rather than risk people ignoring symptoms that are significant, instead of relating specifically to this one drug.

I've been triaged in A&E within ten minutes just by saying the drug name because of the category it comes under - and discharged equally rapidly once they'd established it wasn't anything serious. I spent longer waiting in line at the desk on entry than it took for me to be called in - anything in that class (immunosuppressant/chemotherapy) acts like a modern day 'Open Sesame' to the best the NHS offers.

My other thoughts are that whilst it's entirely up to you, why is it a problem to call it by its full name? We wouldn't call a broken leg an 'Ambulatory Dysfunction' or 'Fred', but you might call it a fracture of the tibia - and calling PTSD, anxiety or depression by any other name ('George'? 'Martha?') doesn't change what they are. Saying (or not saying) the name of the illness doesn't affect it one way or the other - I think people might as well use its name, rather than making it a nebulous Thing That Must Not Be Spoken Of, what with it not being Lord Voldemort, after all.

In other news, I've stopped feeling sick :j so Himself has provided a classy breakfast/lunch/dinner of chicken dippers and mayo. And lots of tea. I like tea.

I'm refusing to look at the kitchen, as he hasn't done anything resembling cleaning it since.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Natty, I may be overstepping the mark here, and if I am I apologise from the bottom of my heart, but this link may be of some use to you. (((Hugs)))
    Better is good enough.
  • Morning all,

I officially hate play doh, my kitchen is covered and it only occupied them for 15 minutes!

Just cleared up after cooked brekkie, will shortly put all the dry laundry away. We are sleeping at sis-in-laws tonight, looking forward to that and Halloween strictly :j

    Will pop back later x

    Morning all,

Super big ((hugs)), Natty. I want to say something to help, but not sure that I am the best person. I know how our world fell apart when we were given our diagnosis for DD, and how I had to believe that she wouldn't make the end of primary school. Every day is mind over matter, but she is now 14, and I have to believe that I can plan for her future so that she can believe that. At least that's the theory. I have wobbly moments, as earlier this week. But in the main, we get there. I don't know if that helps, so sorry if it doesn't.

Lynne - fingers crossed for the interview outcome. I forgot to wish you luck yesterday.

So today is the usual hanging around, followed by taxi, more waiting about, repeat. I think I might brave Mr T. 1 because I have a voucher that runs out, and 2 because it feels at least I am doing something more productive with my waiting time than just driving backwards and forwards all afternoon. DH is up at FiL, so won't be back until later.

ATB - thanks for the Halloweeen Strictly reminder. That's our evening sorted!

    Have a good Saturday everyone.
