Welcome home ATB :hello: You've been missed!

Big ((hugs)) to Natty and Dave. Life is so unfair. Xx

Valli - so lovely to hear.

Today I have to pull myself uo from yesterday's doldrums and get back on track. WM is on. DW has been emptied. Of course it really helped that DH put his dirty breakfast things into the clean dishwashed stuff. He's only been home since last night for goodness sake!! Kitchen about to get a s&s - repeat comment about DH above!!! The small ironing pile will then hopefully be demolished.

DSis and I both have a day off work, so she is on her way here for coffee. And maybe cake. My jeans are too tight and there are wobbly bits that didn't use to be there, but today cake is more important! I do need to get a grip though - daren't stand in the scales!

DD is invoking her right to Have At Least One Extra Long Lie In This Half Term....

and RA Lamewolf; I took it (hydroxychloroquine) which meant regular hospital visits to check my sight was unaffected. I now self-medicate with quinine. In tonic. With gin;)
When they thought I "only" had RA, they had me on sulfasalazine; it was only when I got the lupus diagnosis in 2003 that they switched me to hydroxychloroquine - but it was at a different hospital, so maybe it just depends what doctor you see as to what drug you get given. :o
I've never been offered any sort of eye check whatsoever; I took it upon myself to get my eyes tested at the optician's every 12 months, and I made sure they know I'm on it. It was the optician who diagnosed blepharitis, too - the GP simply dismissed my sore eyes as just another facet of lupus, go away and put up with it.

Fudge is here; so very little will get done between now and Monday. :D

Hope you and fudge have a lovely time LW X

    Thank you Ionafan X

Hats, scarfs and gloves washed (I did them in summer but seemed a bit whiffy when I wore my scarf to the park) I think I need to get a new stair basket where they are kept.

Contents of floordrobe washed (actually stuff was piled on a tub in my room)
    French Windows cleaned inside
    2 worktops cleaned
    Fruit bowl washed
All washing pegged out. It is a lovely sunny day but the sun is quite low and we have a wood behind the garden so I'm not sure it will dry.

    Bathroom S&S

    Too many twinks eaten

Ds2 has a new game so is busy

Only from nice people. So you're OK :)

Sickness finally got to me properly in the wee small hours. It's definitely unusual for me to be ill whilst in full makeup and with neat hair, instead of looking like some kind of demented cat woman. Remember glancing at myself in the mirror whilst washing my hands and the important, worthy thoughts that went through my mind were 'my eyeliner still looks good'.

Woke up to the sounds of the postie desperately trying to fit a squishy package in through the letterbox - stuck my head out the window and asked if it would be easier if I came down and opened the door. So that cheered him up. :D

Still feel yuk. However, from direct experience, I must recommend always keeping your loo spotlessly clean and fresh - extreme closeups are far less traumatic that way. And you don't have to worry about your clothes getting covered in dust, bits of loo roll, spider legs or, in some houses, feeling slightly damp. Thankfully, himself is capable of pointing what needs to be pointed in the correct direction at all times. But I've seen what happens at school, so it's obviously not something that everybody manages.

Must get some more washing on. I'm needed to heft gear and flog t-shirts somewhere in the depths of the Midlands tomorrow, so we will be on the road at half past sparrowfart, back probably a similar time on Sunday and I don't fancy using up the last day of half term doing all the washing and drying when I could be using it to sleep.

    *********************

Whilst we're at it, what is it with this thing of having half term the week before Halloween? It's happened for the last two years, but I have never, never experienced it before - the 31st October has always been when the schools are out. If nothing else, it makes the run up to the end of term in December even longer and more punishing for all concerned.

I should probably try and get a job in a private school. They're off for a fortnight.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I hope a gentle (((hug))) is acceptable for Natty and Jojo from me; if not, just leave it at your nearest CS for someone else to upcycle please.
Fayolle, please could you let us know how the scan and visit went?
Lovely to have you back on board, ATB. I bet that bathroom's proper sparkly.

Busy morning, in the hope that I can have a bit of a lie-in and easy day tomorrow. Thought I'd do an hour on the house and ended up doing four, but in that time I managed to
    - sweep and wash the kitchen floor
    - clean the hob
    - defatted the dog's bones and shove them in the freezer
    - write OH a shopping list and give him my old £1 coin which he can change for a sparkly new one at the bank
    - do two WM loads and peg them out
    - do several lots of washing up
    - make an overdue phone call
    - vacuum the ground floor
    - trot Kelpie around the block three times, feed the sparrows and blackbirds and collect a carrier bag of rubbish from the carpark again
    - strip the superking, pick up the rent and key from the lodger that had to leave earlier than expected (good man, didn't reduce the rent which most of them ask for)
    - go and buy another colour of the same brand of wool as I'm using to crochet a lap blanket (now that I've finally learned how to crochet I absolutely love it)
    - go and get the car washed prior to dealing with the paintwork that needs touching up, which I'll do when I'm certain the bodywork is 100% dry. OH and I are in agreement that £1200 to get the scratches out some toerag inflicted on it with a key is absolutely not going to happen. This will cost £20 and as we're not planning on selling it until it falls to bits or is on the way to the scrapyard that'll save us a pretty penny. Good old YouTube.

I also have another set of minutes that need doing and the leaves need raking up but that's enough for one day.
    Better is good enough.

Oh God's Jojo I hope Dave doesn't get the sickness with it..hes been told to ring 999 if he gets nausea..why?? Can't he just be sick..aktjough it would be no good as I can't handle anyone being sick. And I definitely can't clear it up.. We do have a spotless toilet as the cleaner deep cleans it and I keep it clean inbetween.

And why do I have it in my head today that he's going to die? I haven't thought that since the diagnosis and we were told it isn't life threatening. I cant talk to Dave about it as it will upset him.

Someone think of a name I can call this cancer of his..so I don't have to call it that..

Sorry I'm being a right pity person today..

  • Natty ... I want to say something helpful and I am not sure I can. When DS was really poorly I used to be convinced we were going to lose him. I used to stand outside his bedroom door on a morning if he hadnt woken me up in in the night and take a couple of deep breaths before I walked in. We were told that he would never live independently and never work. I honestly dont believe that he will live to 90 but he is doing so much better than anyone predicted. Keep hoping, even if it feels impossible.

Sorry if that doesnt help or makes you feel worse . I just have a lot of sympathy and it comes from the heart x
