Well we are back to misty and grey this morning..hopefully it will lift soon.

Hubby is golfing all day.. some sort of r.e.m.e competition... still its sorted out his main xmas pressie as his trolley conked at the weekend so i have given him the money so i he can get a new one today....so it will be just a case of getting a few "wrap ups" for the day....He will be back at heck knows what time..so im just seeing to myself today :D ,cross stitch here i come:j

Well the cornedbeef hash was lovely... only had one dumpling..hubby ate 3.. only used 3oz flour... heck knows how i used to eat as much as i di without exploding...1 was just right.... hubby had 2 lots -still it was mainly veg, i have a serving to warm up for lunch, and the juice that was left...i threw lentils in cooked it and have blitzed it and made a lovely soup ..waste not want not and all that:D

Today will be mmmm, actually i will save the hash for my dinner tonight... making pizza - using 1 of the 250g blocks with basil i got whoopsied to about 30p :T .... so if hubby is hungry when he gets in - thats him sorted.

well i hope everyone has a good day... hugs to all those in need.. off to visit the weightloss thread.. which is getting rather popular:T

Happy Birthday to Master DLB :bdaycake:

Late night last night. DH's flight back was delayed, so the taxi driver who was due to collect him had to be elsewhere, so I went out, otherwise who knows when he'd be back. Didn't get in until after midnight, as it was  Thought he might go in late this morning, but the alarm went at 6am as usual

Going to go freezer-diving today. Will get more damsons and cherries out for jam. Think I'll bake a cake and some bread, too. Have some squashy bananas, so muffins for them. Might then take an afternoon nap, as it's choir and a pint tonight

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Morning All

Back at work. Was an interesting afternoon looking after my friend's little one. Just a whole hour of tantrums in the supermarket!

Decided to make an effort for myself this morning and put a smart dress on for work - it's freezing. Wishing I'd not made an effort now!!!:rotfl:

Going to treat myself to a juice from the juice bar later. Feeling as though I need the vitamin hit. Might even have a wrap of some kind. I know I should be saving the pennies but I need a treat!

    Hope everyone's ok

    Good morning all :j

I'm not a frequent visitor but am just so excited I wanted to tell you all.

Tomorrow we get 3 more rescued ex-battery hens to add to our 4 which we took on in Easter 2005.

I keep thinking about our 3 girls who are this morning living in a hellhole (battery cage) and tomorrow they will be coming to their retirement home to see grass, the sun and breathe fresh air.

We are going to call them Madge, Nora and Marion - after my mum and her 2 sisters.

    Sooooooo excited :D
Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend

Muppet - good news about your hens.

Chilly & misty here in Essex this morning, have heating on for the mo but hope the warm sunny weather kicks in as just about to fill the wm. Need to empty dw and wipe kitchen counters then am ready for the school run.

Felt just a bit under the weather last night so went to bed really really early and now feeling fine. Lots to do today - need to pop some invoices round sisters after dropping ds at school then horrible filing job in the office which I will get done today followed by washing kids bedding and cleaning their rooms. DS will be easy as he keeps it tidy but DD's - urrgh.

Did some Xmas shopping on line and waiting for it to be delivered. Its soo easy - dont know how I managed before the internet. Also trying to use Quidco as much as possible so will have some extra pennies in the New Year for the holiday fund.

No idea whats for dinner tonight as I went to bed so early forgot to get a roast out of the freezer, may have jacket pots of perhaps chilli.

Off now for a quick surf.

    Have a great day.

  • Morning all,

Hope you are all well, DD's party went well yesterday and as of yet i haven't heard that i have poisioned anyone.

The chocolate fountain went down well, but as you can imagine the children didnt leave quite the way they had arrived.

Tidied most of the mess last night but i was exhausted so will be spending the best part of this morning tidying up too!

Thank god it's all over for another year :rotfl:

Thought i'd share some piccies ....

    ;) Morning all,

Really must protest about how good you all are at getting up at the crack of Dawn and doing housework. Puts me to shame!:o

DH had a dream that I was on a treasure hunt with some friends he didn't know. Now I know I'm a Freud wannabe, but I think he's a bit jealous of my time on MSE!

Mrs. M, sorry to go on about the cake (still tickled) but I showed the photo to DH and my DB who came over to watch 'Heroes' together.

They too were pleased with your son's interest in baking.;)

DB seemed very interested in the site, but not our bit (notice the ownership, I only joined a week ago!). He is a live alone 31 yr old with a very busy job, so I fear mass baking and batch cooking will never appeal!

Hugs to all who need/want them...

I'm revising at my Ds-I-L's house today. Were both doing 'child development' with the OU. I've booked some time off to revise. She put an inch long stanley blade through her hand on the weekend (DIY). So weirdly our revision will be together. But it's good to do it together.

That's what I feel about this place too.:A

Hope you all have a great day!

    Weezl x

  • Morning everyone,

mrs mix how stressful for your poor DS. Shame on the driver for not even knowing his own route.
    Happy Birthday to Master DLB
muppet hope your new hens settle into their free range retirement.
heavenleigh looks like fun was had by all. The little blond boy in the photo looks sooooo much like my nephew.
thisisit (((hugs))) hope you feel better soon.
thriftlady have you heard the news? Bradley Whitford is making a drama for the BBC and it will be shown in 2008! :j Haven't been able to see every episode of Studio 60 so need a fix and I need it soon. ;):D

Rotten night's sleep last night. It turned really cold here last night so before I went to bed I turned the CH on for one hour. Three hours later I could hardly breathe with the heat in my bedroom. For some reason the CH hadn't switched off when it should so had to get up and do it manually at 1.00am.

2nd job today. (Is there a "boo hiss" smiley?) Hope I'm busy as I can't stand just sitting around doing nothing.

No idea what's for dinner yet but I'm sure I can rustle something up from the freezer. Had to buy a new hoover this week (got a bargain though so shouldn't really complain) so I'm trying to have a few no-spend days to counteract the affect on my bank balance.

    Have a thrilling Thursday. xx

Well hello there, a lost wanderer returns (only briefly before i have my internet cut off!)

Moving house tomorrow so its all go up in Ancasta-land and getting a new cat on saturday, not one to do things by half, we kind of shot ourself in the foot with that one but we shall sort it all out! :o

I actually cant wait to move house, from a flat to a house, so ill have enough room to actually use my breadmaker and slow cooker, a dishwasher is a belated wedding present (if anyone can remember my wedding stress, its my 1st anniverysary in a fortnight  ) And there is a huge cupboard under the stairs to take advantage of bulk pantry and house hold goodies that ive been so neglected from up to now!

Need to get my !!! in to gear and have a shake down of the old finances. Ive been juggling the savings quite nicely in the last 6 months or so, enough to finally buy myself my own car *is still very giddy about that!!*

Todays plans are, work, pack, pack, pack, maybe eat, pack pack, possibly sleep.

Will be back later to steal some of all your enthusiasm and motivation!
