Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11th oct. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Morning everyone
dh decided he wanted most of the bed so I got fed up of trying to balance on the edge so gave up and got up
had a bit of a disaster yesterday I sent ds1 to catch the bus to college but because he has dyslexia he can't read the electronic signs so he asked the driver if the bus went to where he wanted to go the driver said yes but it didn't an hour and 20mins later he was home in a bit of a state so I had to run him in late
baking to do today so thats what I'm up to after the school run
have a good day

Morning Pam and all who follow. How horrible for your DS, Pam. You'd think the bus driver would have got it right. That happened to my mum and, in the end, she had to get off the bus in the countryside and just get the next one back that came along, but it really scared her.
Well, after the good night's sleep I had the night before last, I expected the same last night, but a nagging cough kept me awake for most of the night. I ended up getting up for a cuppa then sleeping in the spare room so as not to wake DH. Don't feel tired yet, but I'm sure I'll be needing a nap later!
I managed to clear all my paperwork yesterday which has left me feeling quite saintly; it's great to have a clear desk for a change but I know it won't last, especially as we are having some post for the next few days. My mum is a bit cross with the Post Office now because, even though we have had no deliveries during the strike, they managed to deliver a card to her saying that something had been posted with insufficient postage and asking her to collect it and pay a further £1.06. Obviously, they were still delivering mail to their own advantage! I hope they sort the strike out soon because it is affecting business badly and it'll make Christmas very difficult.
Dinner tonight is Tarragon Chicken which I shall serve cold with salad and new potatoes and DH can have the rest of yesterday's rice pudding (which I can't stand!) to follow. I have been keeping the cooking simple while I have not been well but really hope I am up and firing on all four cylinders by Monday. Have not even made any cakes which was a bit of a disappointment to the grandchildren when they came round on Tuesday; they had ordered AMIE'S Weetabix Brownies! By the way, AMIE, poor you having to have a filling. I should have gone on Monday for one but had to cancel it, so I have it to 'look forward' to in November. Need a jab for it, too! I also want to get back to the gym but everything seems such a chore at the moment.
I hope everyone else is getting over their colds and sinusitis, (((Hugs))) to all who are still suffering.
Let's hope the promised good weather actually turns up. We could all do with it.
Well, I suppose I had better go and have a shower. Will call in later. Have a great day.

Hubby hates catching buses as he can't read the electronic signs & can't see the number of the bus till it's going past, hope your DS is ok.
My turn to disturb everyone this morning, I put the washing on at 4 & 2nd lot on at 6, if the weather's ok hubby can hang it out for me later.
Of to work in a while, hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning Everyone! That's dreadful about the driver getting it wrong - if he doesn't know where he's going there's not much hope is there? Your poor DS must have been feeling dreadful about it all.
Am kicking myself as have mislaid a cc statement and need to get it paid now if the post is up the creek - clearly my sig. has failed yet again!
Have really missed you all lately - school is frantically busy (I feel like a hamster on a wheel) and w/e are mostly taken up with visiting Mum. Heard yesterday that by now any real recovery from her stroke should have at least been becoming apparent (4 weeks and still no movement in left arm or leg) so I guess we have to start thinking about long term care prospects. Not someting I want to contemplate really.
Congrats to any who are celebrating today, and enormous ((HUGS)) to any who need one.Resolution:

Morning everyone.
We are all up and have been for ages, yes thats right all 4 kids are up and wide awake!!
But its because its eldest ds1 birthday today, dont they get so excited!! Hes 12 today which makes me feel quite old (i know im only 30 but he looks so grown up!!) So im just having a coffee and five on here whilst they watch some rubbish on tv, then i will clear up the wrapping paper and make breakfast.
We have already have a fashion show as he has had alot of new clothes which he is really pleased about (was abit worried as hes normal not impressed with clothing for presents!!lol)
Plans for today go get a cake, im no way near OS enough to bake one!!
And tidy up as my sister and friends are round later to visit,(hoping that we have no trouble from my mum, b/days are the days of the year she love to ruin!)
