    Oops...

I *may* have spent £60 on clothes last night - all in the sale though, and all will be used a lot - a coat, a dress, a top and two fluffy petticoats... Since I set up my budget for the rest of the year I've barely touched my clothing allowance, so I'm not feeling too guilty. Aside from buying my 'smalls' and two vintage dresses months ago, it's the first time I've bought clothing for myself this year, and the gig wardrobe definitely needed a bit of a spruce up now I'm getting lots of repeat clients.

    NSD today though! :j

I was wide awake at 3.30am and couldn't get back to sleep so I've been a bit grumpy / emotional today. Going for a run (I walked back haha) helped, as did taking over some cake to a friend, but I haven't been very productive and all in all, it's been a bit of a write off.

I'm going to force myself to do some sales calls tomorrow - something I dread and have been putting off for too long, and as a reward I'm going to take myself blackberry picking :D at this time of year I'm constantly on the watch for some nice straggly blackberry bushes. Jam making on Thursday if I'm successful! Other jobs tomorrow are music work and some batch cooking, then a gig in the evening. I also have to fill the car up but will have to transfer some spare cash over from my savings while I wait for invoices to be paid - bit annoying as I really want to end the month with at least £100 more in there than I had on the 1st.

Well, I'm shattered! Fingers crossed for a better night's sleep.

Guess who woke up at 3.30am again...

At least I've managed to get some jobs done! :D

A lovely but very tiring weekend of gigs, seeing friends and making a 700-mile round trip all around the south of England. Local gig tonight, volunteering tomorrow then a day off on Thursday :j I've also managed to book in a bit more work and acquire a new client, taking my bookings to £1584 (£384 over my target) and four new clients. Quite chuffed about that!

Not much planned for today - unpack and do the laundry from my weekend away, look over a few potential new songs, and when I'm tired enough catch up on some sleep. Insomnia is a cruel mistress!

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

HOW IS IT SEPTEMBER?? I say this all the time, but I don't understand time anymore! :rotfl:

Looking back on the past month, I think I've done quite despite myself - my energy levels being my main bugbear. This month I already have enough work in to cover everything including paying off more debt, so I'm going to focus on getting more work in for the rest of the year and heading into 2020, sorting out plans for the next couple of years, and generally trying to look after myself. The medication and therapy combo seem to be going well, but I still have a way to go.

    August List

Rent: £450 (all in) £450 spent; clear
    Fuel: £150 £210.93, overspend £60.93
    Groceries: £100 £99.88 spent, 12p left
Phone: £40.08 - this includes insurance £40.08 spent; clear
    Business: £100 £130.50 spent, overspend £30.50
Fun: £60.44 £55.03 spent, £5.41 left - another £7.46 added due to Prolific payout
    Prescription: £9.00
    Gift: £2.50

    - go to two networking events 3/2

I'm really looking forward to September - my gigs are hugely varied and I also have volunteering, baking, seminars and networking booked in, as well an audition and a couple of trips up to London to see and show and rehearse.

    September

    - £2000 in sales
    - 5 new clients
    - 2 blog posts on website
    - put up set lists
    - join various business groups and pay fees

    - workout x 10
    - check sewing machine still works
    - read 2 books
    - sort budgets for 2020

    Rent - £450
    Fuel - £225
    Groceries - £100
Phone - £42 (had a to make a quick international call that won't be covered in my bill)
    Business - £300
    Fun - £100
    Misc - £50

I think that's it for now. Plodding through my to-do list before tonight's gig.

    Happy Sunday!

You done grand in August :j:j:j

and I see that you've raised the bar on your sales / new bookings to reflect that ;)
I would have raised it to £1500 rather than £2000 but that's from my own experience of having to make my department look good to the owners/bosses. I do my best to set targets that I know we will beat, whether it be completion dates or increased revenue... if only I applied the same at home, i'd be a hell of a lot better off  :rotfl:
You know your business better than I, so feel free to tell me to burger orf ;)

Bit of a spendy day today - I did manage to eke out all my makeup until this month, and I'm glad I did because everything was 3 for 2 in sup3rdrug so I stocked up! I'd given myself £30 to get everything sorted, got three items free, used the pound I had on my loyalty card and it came in at £27ish so quite chuffed with that. I know makeup isn't considered very MSE or frugal, but it's essential for my work and I like it! Because I'm a bit low on time atm, I ran to the bank to get my workout in as well - nothing like a good multitask :rotfl:

I also need to fill up the car before I head to London this afternoon, and I'm going to a ukulele class with a friend tonight. Hoping for a NSD tomorrow - plan is to stuff my face at my friend's house and pack snacks for the journey back :D

I've finally hit the £50 threshold for PopulusLive and got an email to confirm a cheque will be sent to me this month. That's going straight as a CC overpayment!

I think that's it for now. I'm heading away in about an hour, so quick lunch, pack, and hit the road!
