We don't spend 12bn a year on eu membership. How can discussions progress with no much disinformation?

Why do we constantly have the same conversations? As to which 4 countries (out of 28) are the only net contributors to the EU. Which makes the status quo hardly unsurprising.

What impact would not sending £1 billion a month to the EU have on the pound?

Turns the pound into -999,999,999,999 pounds?

Please come with evidence that we send the EU and don't get it back in some way. You're just repeating old lies.

So the Catalonia news is just on, the independence party edged it, the Spanish PM seems to have 'done a May'.

Is there a malaise creeping across the EU?
    - First UK Brexits
    - Germany fails to form a govt due to many extremist MPs getting in
    - Austria forced to form a coalition with Nationalist extreme right wing party
    - Spain in Catalonian independence crisis
    - Nearly forgot Poland, being sanctioned by EU on it's right-wing ruling partys disregard for rule of law.

Now tell me the above is not part of a pattern.
The UK looks like a paragon of common sense compared.
Looks a lot like the politics of difference are to the fore. The UK is part of that trend - not separate from it.
    No.
    Absolutely not.

If you disagree perhaps you could show me where there is a single parliamentary seat in the UK held by a far-right party?
Or where the UK government authorized attacks upon Scottish citizens during their referendum or jailed their politicians AND DESPITE THAT the country voted for independence?
Or when the UK took a record length of time to form a coalition as in the Netherlands and now Germany?

In forthcoming elections, polling in Sweden shows see-sawing between parties with anti-immigration party Sweden Democrats possible of a strong result. Then in Italy they have gone as far as to change election laws in an attempt to prevent the anti-establishment Five Star from winning but even that might not be enough.

Yet you think "UK is part of that trend"?
You need to re-examine your understanding because comparatively the UK is indeed a paragon of common sense, despite what our media tries so desperately to demonstrate otherwise.

Has to winners and losers. That's a very basic fact.

10% of the EU's budget is spent on the European Social Fund. For all intents and purposes. It's aim is to pass money from the wealthiest regions to help the poorest. While the UK has deprived areas, not on the scale of the Eastern or Southern States.
  • More good news here:
“If anyone had said in the immediate aftermath of the Brexit vote that the economy would only slow from 1.9pc in 2016 to 1.8pc now, we’d have been very happy with that.”
Deloitte’s chief economist Ian Stewart hailed the positive GDP figures: "The UK’s performance has been rather better than the gloomy talk would suggest."
He added: "Overall, growth has slowed modestly, not collapsed. Talk of an end to UK growth has been somewhat exaggerated."

And for last year and earlier:

Not bad for what so many here refer to as an insignificant little island.

The UK once free of EU regulations. Can introduce legislation to tackle uninsured drivers, unroadworthy vehicles etc etc. Heavy goods vehicles contributing to the upkeep of the UK's road etc. Speeding fines are a minor issue in comparison.

What's the news of central funding for the European road networks?

    Those are excellent points Thrugelmir,
I honestly did not realise that Britain was unable to introduce legislation to tackle uninsured drivers and un roadworthy vehicles.
Why was not this mentioned in the out campaign.

I am searching for news on funding for European road networks.
Just from memory I think there have been and will be lots of new roads built throughout the EU27. I probably drive on them everyday.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

I fear your peddling disinformation too. The alleged £500 million cost for the new blue passports is apparently fake news. A lot of it about.

If that is true I am also guilty of repeating it.
Frankly as I typed £500 million for new passports it did cross my mind that it sounded a lot of money for what is a just a vanity project.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

According to the BEEB, passports are regularly updated to reduce forgeries etc, and the new colour will happen alongside one of these regular updates. I suspect choosing blue ink for the cover rather than burgundy will not add much to the overall costs for the revisions.

That’s very interesting. Why did Theresa Brexit make such a huge announcement about it. Strange.

I think he's talking about eu drivers where enforcement is difficult.
How it'll improve when we're less integrated I don't know.
