Actually we live in the safest most stable times of any point in human history. A Daily Mail reader's chances of being killed by a Muslim terrorist are minute, and there really isn't much else likely to happen to them. Unless being red faced and shouting about foreigners causes some kind of coronary.
    Hmmm.
Try telling that to western Ukrainians.
    Jordanians.
    Libians, Syrians or Afghanis.
    Israelis or Palestinians.
    Sudanese or Congolese.
    Somalis or Nigerians.
    South Koreans.
    Should we go on?

Just because you and your Daily Mail readers are fortunate enough to be relatively safe whilst being cosseted in your comfortable and generally safe British environs does not make the impact upon others any less real.

Even within the boundaries of the Schengen area inside the EU there are many threats. Ask many of those incarcerated inside EU refugee camps across the EU, even in Germany itself.

However you should also understand that cross border speeding tickets is slowly being rolled out through the EU. Britain has not signed up to it and probably never will given the future.

The UK once free of EU regulations. Can introduce legislation to tackle uninsured drivers, unroadworthy vehicles etc etc. Heavy goods vehicles contributing to the upkeep of the UK's road etc. Speeding fines are a minor issue in comparison.

What's the news of central funding for the European road networks?

Or...closer to home, my daughter's college mate who never returned home from a concert earlier this year in Manchester.

I don't buy this assessment where people are supposed to judge a terrorist potential threat just like a lottery win.

No more bizarre than spending £billions we don't have on foreign aid or £12 billion a year on EU membership.. You do realise we still have a deficit each year don't you so in fact any of those examples could be seen as being borrowed money.........

We don't spend 12bn a year on eu membership. How can discussions progress with no much disinformation?

The remainer complaint about passports is because it's a total was of money. A huge number of us are too young to remember passports that ceased in 1988. I mean, who other than a few frothers and Farage actually care what colour it is? Is it worth half a billion quid to change them? We can't think of anything better to do with that money?

Maybe not but some perspective is needed before setting national policy and throwing money at it.

What is the point of a terrorist attack?
How many people does it affect versus other causes of premature deaths?

I fear your peddling disinformation too. The alleged £500 million cost for the new blue passports is apparently fake news. A lot of it about.

According to the BEEB, passports are regularly updated to reduce forgeries etc, and the new colour will happen alongside one of these regular updates. I suspect choosing blue ink for the cover rather than burgundy will not add much to the overall costs for the revisions.

My bad but since 2010 its averaged out a net contribution of around £10 billion but never the less the prinicple is correct. We run a budget deficit so we borrow money to then give away/donate/contribute or whatever slant you wish to put on it. The UK contribution is predicted to rise before we leave.

What impact would not sending £1 billion a month to the EU have on the pound?

Very little. As doesn't resolve the underlying issues that exist.
