UKIP wishes to embrace the world (not sure if that policy has filtered down to the rank and file though).
UKIP isn't sentient, any policies are determined by the largest number of people in the group.
So which of the xenophobes and chancers has it filtered through to?The EU is a white Christian club.
And yet it's immigration that is the main reason we want to shut ourselves off from the rest of the world, while they are welcoming refugees. Maybe your opinion of the EU is totally flawed?0 -
Nothing is agreed until everything is agreed.
Indeed.
In the case of Ireland, Dublin were guilty of over egging the pudding the other day when it boasted that it had extracted some sort of cast iron guarantee from the UK. Lest we forget also that if any hard border between ROI and Ulster does appear, it'll be at the behest of the EU rather than the UK.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
Britain will not pay a penny to leave the European Union if there is no deal, Theresa May tells her MPs
This from 1:14pm today in the Telegraph. Yes it is paywalled but the content is obvious.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/12/11/britain-will-not-pay-penny-leave-european-union-no-deal-theresa/
It quotes Theresa May as saying“We have agreed a fair settlement of commitments we have made while a member of the EU, in the spirit of our future partnership.
“It depends upon a broader agreement being reached – as I have said, nothing is agreed until everything is agreed – so if there is no agreement then our offer also falls away.”0 -

Yes. That's what "nothing is agreed until everything is agreed" means. A form of words the EU has accepted.0 -

They're taking the media POV without first engaging intelligent thought, sadly.
It seems that some are incapable of understanding that there is no withdrawal agreement until everything is agreed and that, as such, nothing at all is legally enforcable until any final agreement is signed.
Surely that should be common sense?0 -

The odds of a hard brexit have diminished dramatically but keep hoping that 'nothing is agreed until everything is agreed' might mean no agreement will be reached.
You never know it might actually be in the interests of the UK to have a trade deal with the EU.0 -
David Davis has stated that he wants a Canadian (trade deal) plus plus plus.
I assume this is official policy?
So has he had his department prepare a Canadian plus plus plus impact report.
Has anyone asked him, do we think it's a sensible thing to prepare?
Just a reminder of what the Canadian trade deal has and hasn't
