It's quite disturbing that some people can be so staggeringly ignorant of the facts.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

There you have it right there...because I'd rather be ruled by unelected beuacrats in Brussells....because I'm Scottish,Welsh, Scouse or whatever
I don't care to be honest, I think our far bigger problem than supposed EU dictatorship is Westminster incompetence, our own government is responsible for most of the problems we face the EU has just made a handy scapegoat for plenty of years.
I don't see many people who supposedly care about loss of sovereignty and accountability wanting House of Lords reform, either, maybe I missed Rees Mogg and Johnson complaining about that, or maybe they are fine with unelected elites as long as they are the right sort of British unelected elites.
I'm originally from Northern Ireland (voted Remain) and now live in London (voted Remain) so oddly enough I or most people around I know don't feel particularly represented by current government policy on this either, such is democracy but it doesn't always feel particularly accountable to many of us.
People like yourself seem happy to use a narrow majority in a referendum to force through the hardest of hard Brexits, and completely ignore any alternative views, as I've said previously be careful what you wish for, follow that approach and you may end up back in the EU in 10 years on worse terms than we are now.0 -
You won't get another referendum.

Just about sums us up really. As Britain flounders under the baleful influence of a clique of Tory hard Brexiters, the diminution of its global reputation proceeds apace. We are in danger of becoming the incredible shrinking island, slowly sinking, flags flying, into North Atlantic mists. Recent comments by Wilbur Ross, the US commerce secretary, suggesting Britain must scrap key regulatory standards to secure a bilateral trade deal, show how potentially harmful are the Brexiters’ half-baked ideas about a future free trade paradise. Do they still believe Trump’s America, China or India will offer sweetheart deals at mates’ rates? Dream on. Bigger powers will ruthlessly exploit Britain’s growing, self-inflicted weakness and isolation. And the cost will be borne not by Tory wreckers but by those in Britain who can least afford it.0 -

I hate to be the one to break it to you but as far as I can make out the idea of sending any significant extra money to the NHS appears to have been dropped.0 -

Remainers they remind me of Royalists - they allow the EU of so many liberties. £75 billion?????? What have you been drinking cos I want some.
Are you against us paying what we owe? Or do you still think this is just a bribe?0 -

Even if Remainers manage to overturn the result they are giving are future up to an institution that is no better than a medieval court. With the elites deciding everything without regard for ordinary folk.
Shame on you Remoaners.
Juncker, at least, was elected. Albeit in a slightly different way to our PM.
If you don't think he's right for the job then get your MEP to turn up for a change.0 -
You are naive if you think this is a negotiation.
We don't agree on many things but can agree on this one. Every fule no that the EU are not negotiating. I can't think of a single item where the EU have shown any flexibility whatsoever. Can you?
The other thing we can agree on is that we should settle our bill. How much to you think that should be? Whatever figure that the EU has plucked out of the air?0 -
