Offer £250 to switch to Clydesdale, Yorkshire or B

You have to do a full switch and close your old account.
As others have mentioned, you could quickly open a dummy account elsewhere (or second account at your existing provider) and switch that one.0 -
All 3 are down at the moment. Here's hoping they get the site back up before the offer is pulled.0

@mt99
Thanks for that but then if I open a "dummy" account how do you qualify for the two dd's as part of the transfer?0 -
You dont have to transfer the DD. Set them up on the account after it has been opened.0

@KTF
So if I open a second account, (a basic basic current account) with my current bank and give those new details to Yorkshire Bank, when applying, should that be satisfactory?
I suppose I will just have to ditch the debit card (for dummy account) that I receive from my current provider when it arrives?0 -
Based on what I have seen on this thread the process seems to be.
1. Open the Clydesdale/YBS/B account.
2. Use their switching process to move/close a sacrificial account.
3. Setup 2x paying DD on the Clydesdale/YBS/B account.
4. Pay in £1k a month.
5. Wait for the £250.0 -
I've got three Bank of Scotland current accounts with Vantage, all maxed out. But I raid it for cash when I need it elsewhere, usually temporarily, because it has the lowest interest in my collection. It's got the direct debits already in place. So I suppose I could switch one of those? And after a decent interval open a third Vantage account to restore the status quo!0

That's just what I was going to do , I actually moved money out of BOS and then I remembered my second Halifax Reward- opened in the days when you were allowed 2.
Realised that the BOS is earning more than the £3 reward so the Halifax is now going to be switched after 8 years!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Can you do the "B" account if you've previously had a Yorkshire bank switching bonus? Terms are a bit woolly, I understand you couldn't do Clydesdale and then Yorkshire but is the B account different?0

Can others confirm with certainty that #3 is correct, i.e. that the two DDs can be setup on the Clydesdale account after it has been opened and do not need to have existed previously on the sacrificial account being switched?0
