Offer £250 to switch to Clydesdale, Yorkshire or B

Speaking of which, do you really feel it's necessary to have that rather condescending and unnecessarily lengthy essay about credit scoring appended to every one of your posts, regardless of (ir)relevance?
It can be useful for any newbie who comes on here and may not understand about credit scores. Hopefully too it saves contributor Z81 time in having to keep spilling out the same message about how useless the score is.0 -
For 2. see previous interpretation of the conditions... i.e. does the 2nd £1,000 need to be within the 31 days following the first 31 days or the 31 days following the 1st £1,000?
I believe it's the former and your payment dates are fine for this but fall foul if it's the latter interpretation. If you delayed payment of the first £1,000 for a week or so (or did the January one a week or so earlier) then you'd meet both interpretations.
I am another one who is struggling trying to work out when I need to pay in the second £1,000. Do you think I have understood properly? - Here are my dates:
I opened my Clydesdale Plus account on 25 October - thankfully with no problems. My switch from M&S current account went through on 06 November and one direct has been taken so far. A second direct debit is due to be taken on 28 November - and again in December.
This is what I am struggling with and will appreciate your opinion, please:
I paid in £1,000 by faster payment on 07 November and another £30 on 13 November - to cover the next direct debit payment. Is my second £1,000 due to be paid in by or on 06 December or is it due by or on 06 January 2018 - or maybe even on another date I have not worked out?
I can't quite get the date straight in my mind from the checklist. I'll be so pleased to be eligible for the £250 offer and don't want to mess anything up.
It is thanks to this forum that I learned about this offer in the first place, thank you.
Any advice about he date of the second £1,000 will be really appreciated, thank you.

First £1000 due within 31 days of switching you switched on the 6th so the 7th Falls within this period
second thousand due between 32 days and 62 days after switch so I would pay it in sometime after say the 10th of December0 -

Without wanting to steer this off course after the person before you took it off track, putting it as my signature was for this exact reason. When the "credit rating" forum was started it was inundated with people posting about "my credit score" and wondering why it was high when they had several defaults or low with a perfect repayment history and it was easier than numerous posts letting them know that they did not have "a credit score".
Now back to what this thread should be about...
Am I right that paying in the £1k within 31 days of switch and then another £1k between days 32 to 62 doesnt necessarily need to come from your employer paying your salary in? I'm considering changing my bank account where I am paid to my alternative NatWest account and then transferring £1k from that each time.0 -

Transfer the money in from any other bank account that you have that is not related to Clydesdale or Yorkshire Bank group in any way.0 -

Thank you very much 18cc. I really could not 'think straight' about the dates. Your reply is very much appreciated - thank you again.

Just done an experiment and sent my second £1000 over which is after 31 days of my switch but not after 31 days of my initial £1000 deposit.Although I had sent it originally included in the switch I got the wobbles, retrieved it and sent again about a week later. Will be interested to see if this triggers the payout,if not I will send again around 27/28thmortgage free 3/10/12:)0

You wont know which credit triggered the payout because the payout will not be made until after 62 days from the date of your switch.0 -

No, the £1k certainly does not need to come from earnings, salary, whatever- that's the (wrong) assumption that people make.
It doesn't need to be the whole amount at once- could be 4 x £250 as long as the total = £1k and of course it only needs to pay a visit, it can then move on to pastures new. In fact it could be the same £250 that visits x 4!! I'm fairly sure that the t&cs just state that you need to credit your account with £1k- doesn't anywhere state that needs to be a lump sum.- another assumption?Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

It seemed a bit ambiguous to me,that's why I decided to test it.T/c's I was given in B shop state "we will credit £250 to your B current a/c with us within 70 calendar days of your a/c switch being completed, provided you continue to meet all of these terms and conditions".I suspect you are correct though noh......mortgage free 3/10/12:)0
