I use cbonline.co.uk, but maybe it's different if you are with the Yorkshire?
Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.

Don't know why people keep say logon using YB/Clydesdale.... that doesn't even let me register for that using my customer number. Unless you were previous customers maybe?

My switch has also taken forever...due 21st.... have no confidence in them.

Right now website is down...app is down so I can't even look at my finances at all.....

This is going to be hit and run job
No brand new customer - you don't need to register for it, just log in using the credentials you set up for B.

I use cbonline.co.uk, but maybe it's different if you are with the Yorkshire?

Indeed, their traditional internet banking service cbonline.co.uk works ok to access my B account, but in all of the signup documentation we were steered towards accessing our B account using either youandbe.co.uk or the mobile B app so IMO the least they could do is make sure this route of access works...

EDIT - As of 5pm, youandb.co.uk appears to be working again.
  • Can somebody clarify my assumptions, please?
My switch date is supposed to be on November, 24th.
    1. Are people receiving emails to confirm that the switch has happened successfully?
    2. If my switch goes through without a problem then I intend to transfer £1000 to the account on December, 7th and a further £1000 on January 14th. I think that satisfies the conditions. Is that correct?
    3. Once I transfer the first £1000, I assume I can withdraw some or all of that money before I transfer the second £1000 and similarly, after I transfer the second £1000, I can withdraw some or all of that money at any time following the transfer?
    4. I have no direct debits on the switched account so will have to move 2 from another account which must be paid within 62 days of the switch date. Is that also correct?

I log on most days using the app and my laptop, no problems accessing either since i opened the account. I chose YB when setting it up.

I don't think I did! Even 'though it was only a few days ago!

    That's how I read it

None of that money needs to stay- it can just touch base and move one-I'm assuming there will be some money in the a/c when you switch.

    4. I have no direct debits on the switched account so will have to move 2 from another account which must be paid within 62 days of the switch date. Is that also correct?

This one I don't know- I had DDs transfered at switch which pay out monthly, and have already paid out.

Answered in conditions 4(a) and 4(b), but be mindful of condition 4(c).
  • This is my first time switching for an offer like this, so the switch completed and i had 3 direct debits on the switched account which will pay out within the 62 days.

my question is how long does the transferred £1000 have to stay in the B account for safety?

I.E my salary was paid into one account, the necessary money was moved to the B account but it's needed in another account soonish, how soon can i transfer it out of B ?

    thanks in advance
if i had known then what i know now

Let me answer your question with a question...

If this was your salary credit (rather than an FP), on a scale of one to ten how annoyed would you be if they wouldn't let you spend it straight away?

    And there's your answer. :)
