Warning to all
check the dd's have been switched.
Only 1 of 2 dd's has been switched and although Clydesdale apologised, its too late for the dd to be set up and paid this month now that it hasn t switched properly.
Had I not noticed, the £250 incentive may not have been paid either.:eek:If you want to be rich, never, ever have kids0 -

and I wonder whose fault that is.
Was it listed on the letter sent out prior to switch and again (self same letter) just after switch? If so, yes it's Clydesdale, and if no, then it is your original account provider.
If you see my post above you'll see that my in payment is wrong. Yes the details belong to one of my accounts , but no it wasn't paying money into the account pre-switch so the error belongs to Halifax not YorkshireBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Should have done what I did. I created 2 new dds after the switch had completed.0 -
Morning all. Quick question:
My switch has gone through, but the 'Repeating' section of the App only shows 1 DD. Do the other ones only appear once a transaction has taken place?

When I noticed you could do this in the T&C's .... something told me to take that route! So I waited for the switch to go through and set up 1 new DD from each of 2 Tesco Savers ..... knowing they will finish AFTER the £250 bonus should turn up in the account.
I'll keep this CB account just as long as needed for the next decent switch to come along in the new year (that I haven't already done) and it will be sacrificed. No doubt, I'll need some new DD's though for the next switch when Tesco pull the plug in April!0 -

Hello
not sure if it works the same with all brands, however on the yorkshire side of it the repeating tab on the app only shows the direct debits that have been claimed, however when i log into the yorkshire desk top type, there is a list of direct debits which shows all of them (claimed and non claimed)MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
Good experience with B account today (Yorkshire bank team) and honouring the £250 bonus.
Account opened earlier in the month during the time the £250 offer period was advertised, before it quickly disappeared. Activated my Switch only today (the switch happens actually in 9 days' time), and they promised the £250 bonus would still go through in 72 days' time because I applied for my account in that bonus window, but provided that:
1) I pay in £1,000 within 31 days of the Switch
2) I pay in £1,000 again after that in the next 31 days
3) I have 2 direct debits come out during that 62 days after the Switch
I get the impression they got absolutely inundated with current account applications (especially after the BBC news article) and they are *still* sorting through the applications. It was a bit much for them (you think, if they just honoured 100,000 applications in that short window, that's still £25,000,000 in cash they have to find to give out in returns)
As well as the 2x £1k payments I'll be moving my mobile phone direct debit to go out from my B account as well (as a 3rd direct debit alongside my 2 water DDs) just to be on the safe side and tick that last criteria box.June 2018 diary:
Debt: £13,169.83 (all on 0% CC til Sept 2018, repaying £500 a month)
Mortgage: £191,000 (on Repayment, 5-yr fix @ 2.39%)
Savings: £12,300 in various accounts @ between 1-5%, milking until August when will pay off CC0 -
Incredibly annoyingly I've spotted that one of my direct debits to a Halifax credit card hasn't been set up. It's just called "Direct debit rej" and all the others are there except Halifax, so by process of elimination it's that one.
Also it didn't transfer any of my payees, which is annoying as I'm having to set them all up again
B wrote to me when they confirmed the switch to say that a standing order could not be transferred, then separately listed out the direct debits and payments that would be transferred (all direct debits except the one above have been set up). So it's just a bit rubbish that they haven't done so when they said they would...
Also, they say HSBC would confirm the closing of my last account but I've heard nothing of them since the switch two weeks ago and I can still log into online banking.0 -
