A sneaky tip that worked for me at 18:00 and looks like it may still work.

If you use a desktop computer to access the following page, https://www.youandb.co.uk/get-b/ you'll see the pink sign up button very briefly flashes as if its available and then greys out as soon as the page loads.

I hit F5 to refresh, had my mouse ready where the button is, and as soon as it refreshed clicked the button before it could grey out and it worked and allowed me to click on it and proceed.

I've just completed an application for the B account using the method above. Thanks again:)

I've just opened a B account and arranged to switch. However they wont let me put in a switching date before 6/11 - every earlier date they describe as being "in the past" erm. I suspect the 250 bonus will be gone before the switch date. Ho hum, I will just use the new account to switch to another.

Maybe spend a few minutes reading the offer T&Cs?...
    Other Conditions
    10. We may withdraw the offer at any time without notice. If we do withdraw the
offer, you won’t qualify for the payment unless you have already instructed us to
undertake the Current Account Switch before the offer is withdrawn.
...and you'll see that as long as you've made your switch request before they pull the offer you'll get your £250.
  • I have just applied for a B account online. Upon completion of the application I received a message saying my application has been deferred and I will receive a response within two days. Anyone else received that? I am not getting my hopes up as based on my experiences of applying for accounts online, I either get accepted immediately or not at all.

It's not an attempt to swindle you out of the switching bonus, it's because a switch date of 06/11 gives 7 full working days to complete your switch. Admittedly it is strange that the description is "in the past" rather than "too early" or similar.

I applied a couple of hours ago and received confirmation that my account is open (I have the sort code and account number) and that I'd receive my card and PIN within a week (I wouldn't be surprised if it took a little longer given the volume of applications). I'd guess I've had 3 referrals out of 20 applications with 1 decline (HSBC Advance).
  • How do you start the switching process part? I have had an email saying i have been accepted for B account with acc no and sort code but no information about the switching?
  • Where did it inform you about how you start the switching part. I applied online and was accepted but nothing about how to fill in which bank account i want to switch from?

I wasn't asked about switching either, and after I correctly answered all 5 security questions at the end of the application I received this message:

"We need more time to look at your application
The team at B need to go over your application in more detail. We’ll do this within two working days then send you an email or text to log in and see our decision."
