    Yes the mobile is PAYG.

Sadly the wages are the monthly figure. He works from 6am to 4pm 5 days per week. He used to work full time but his company recently dropped his hours considerably and since then he has been applying for other full-time work with no luck.
this works out to be a 45 hr week, based on a 9 hr day, 5 day week. This then equates to £2.60 an hour.

Even if there is 1-2 hours travelling its still a 35 hr week, making £3.38 an hour.

Have you stated the correct number of days per week worked?

I give my son his 'dinner money' still (although in receipt of EMA) but as I still collect child benefit I don't mind, has he considered this out going? Mine is roughly £5 per day (2 sons)

    I've quoted her AM.......6am-4pm, 5 days

so I worked out a 9 hr day (less 1hr lunch) which is a 45 hr week, she says he travels 1-2 hours, so I deducted 2 hours per day, she may have underestimated. So I work out a 35 hr week over 5 days.

I hope its 6-4 on a 3 day week really. Giving an hourly rate of £5.61.

I'll have to ask him for more details tonight as his work hours are really all over the place. I don't know how he keeps track. Off the top of my head I think he does about 30 hours per week but also spends a lot of time travelling from store to store which you could class as unpaid work as it's part of the job really. So even though he starts in one store at 6am he might work there till 10am and then spend an hour on a bus to another store. Then he will work from 11am to 2pm at that store and then spend another hour on a bus where he would work from 3pm to 6pm. He would usually eat his lunch on a bus too.

i thought he finished at 4pm, that mean he's out of the house 10 to 12 hours a day, 5 days a week for £110 wage
Why would anyone spend all that time out of the house all day not working for a pittance?
And why would a company want someone wasting an hour in travelling time even if they arent paying for it.

I will start by stating: I have NO idea what I am talking about.

Now to my opinion .... going to 3 stores, is this the job he signed up for? Or has he independently put together this flexible hours/locations package himself by applying within the same group?

The reason I am asking is, when I read it I thought "if the company are requiring him to be at the 2-3 different stores, they should be paying for his time to travel between sites really". Now, I can see an argument for only paying him the hours he is actually doing a shift, but it's a question of whether the company are helping him out with these hours, or if he is doing the job as advertised.... it reminded me of (McDonalds?/similar) who got told off a few years back as when the shop wasn't busy staff had to clock out and loiter until more customers came in. Worth looking into/maybe somebody here knows a bit more about whether they're taking him for a ride, or if he's benefitting from them flexibly accommodating his peculiar work hours/locations within the same group.

I totally agree with MissK_J. There are definitely some issues here, and his wages do not add up at all. I would be wanting to see wages slips, his company could be messing up his wages quite badly, I'm afraid. Sorry, if that is too harsh.

    All the best,
