I've just texted him and he has confirmed that the income figures are per month, not per week. He also confirmed he gets no HB or CT benefit.
Perhaps I will have to let him off paying his half of the wedding and I'll py for all of it myself.
His daughter won't get a job. She turned her nose up at the idea of getting a part time job.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

Perhaps she needs to be taught the value of money that it does not grow on trees.
He should stop the pocket money it will be hard and she will sulk but she will get over it eventually. He cannot afford it if his wages are that low.
Can he not get income support or anything? has he checked he receives all he is entitled to?

I think your bf should contact ACAS to find out if his wages are legal because they don't sound it. http://www.acas.org.uk/ and look for another job, he can't possibly enjoy working so hard for so little. Its better that he deals with things before you get married rather than you help him out because it will set a precident and you need to be equal going into a marriage esp with a daughter that is above working!0

I dunno, kids today no value of money!
To be honest though the income is the main problem here, he simply needs more of it, either a 3rd part time job, or getting a full time post.
Alternatively he could look at other ways of making money, but it depends where his skillset lies0 -
He could save on rent and bills by moving in with you0

She was offered a saturday job in a bakery about a year ago but as soon as she saw the uniform she refused it.
Not only that, we gave her money to buy a bridesmaid dress for the wedding (more than I spent on my own wedding dress). She couldnt see anything she liked so decided to spend it all on jeans and t shirts instead. A week later she found something she liked but they didn't have it in her size (she's a size 0  ) so they had to order it in and it was £200 (more than I spent on my wedding dress). So he handed over yet another £200 to cover the cost of the dress.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
