Sadly the wages are the monthly figure. He works from 6am to 4pm 5 days per week. He used to work full time but his company recently dropped his hours considerably and since then he has been applying for other full-time work with no luck.
Sorry again Bs but I'm still really confused. That's 8 hours a day 5 days a week which is full time.

I think you need to speak to you bf again and find out exactly what his SOA is. I would be very surprised if the information you've provided so far is correct, it just doesn't add up. Until you have all the info it's impossible to give any relevant advice.
Could there be another reason why he isn't giving you the whole story on his incomings/outgoings? Sometimes people stick their head in the sand about their finances
If the info is correct then I would advise him look at changing his job or getting another part time job. If this isn't possible he should cut down on the amount he gives his daughter and the amount he saves for the wedding. If my OH earned so little I wouldn't expect him to contribute such a large proportion of his income. After all marriage is your life together not just the day and you obviously have a very strong relationship.0 -

So he works for 22 hours a week and walks for 18? Blimey he must be fit!!!
And Spirit.....People are just trying to get to the bottom of what is a confusing SOA which BS has contradicted on a number of points. If we don't know the full story we can't help.

Umm because the information you give (which I'm assuming you got from him) keeps changing.black-saturn wrote: »I'm confused at why you think it doesn't add up?0 -

But that doesn't mean they're correct! 0 -

Because first of all you stated that “he works from 6am to 4pm 5 days per week.” which is 40 hours
Then you say “He spends a lot of time travelling from shop to shop which takes time but he doesn't get paid for it. So when I say he's at work all that time there was probably 1 or 2 hours of that day spent travelling from one branch to another” This would add up to 5-10 hours walking. You state then that he works 30 hours.
But now you’re saying he walks 18 hours a week as he only works 22 hours.
You said in post 36 that he spends an hour on the bus travelling. Now you say he walks instead. An hour’s journey on the bus would take a fair while to do on foot. You also said he eats his lunch on the bus.
I’m just not sure that he/you knows exactly how many hours he works for that monthly wage.0
