Good luck. Just another thought, do you use click through sites? Ok, you don't get a lot back from them but every little helps.

I was going to leave this and not hi-jack BS's thread, but lots of this is out of date info.In my experience you are both wrong (taken from Exeter, Southampton, Kent Universities)
Hi I have experience of two of these and another, but that is not relevant to the current situationSorry to contradict - Nowadays the majority of degrees are based on your performance over the whole of the course, including 1st year exams...this can determine the classification and whether honours or not.years 2 and 3 both count (usually equal weighting) to your overall degree!!
These are the rules at OxfordThe first set of examinations is sat at the end of your second term. You must pass these in order to proceed.
The second set of examinations is taken at the end of your final year and cover all the tutorial courses that you took in the intervening period (i.e. more than two years' worth of work). Your degree classification is determined entirely by your performance in (your final year examinations).
Universities have the right to decide how they actually decide on the class of degree, but there are a number of drivers that have changed things a lot in the last 5 years
They must take into account year 3 results when deciding to the overall degree classification. They are allowed to take into account year 2 modules
BUT...
There is ample research to indicate that counting both years reduces the average mark acheived by students and therefore reduces the number of students acheiving the higher classifications, even though educationally it is sound practice. All the league tables take into account the percentage of graduates with 2.1 and 1st degrees. There are therefore huge incentives to work with year 3 modules only.
A university that counts results from both years
a) reduces the number of 2.1 and 1st degrees it awards and hence its reputation
b) slides down the league tables
c) disadvantages its graduates in the job market, as some of them have less attractive degrees even though they are as academically able as graduates from other universities with a better degree.
d) lays itself open to challenge by students whose classification would have been higher if only year 3 modules had been used.
e) will almost certainly be criticised by the external examiners and the assessment Agency for over assessing their students.
However, some individual students are disadvantaged by the final year pressure so some universities count a few marks from year 2, often the best ones only if that will raise the student's average mark. And a few dinosuars may count the full year, but I do not know of any. Also, if she doesn't pass her 1st year, .....and some courses will demand an overall pass in EVERY year, and not just in compulsory modules. ... Yes, you get another chance to take the exams, but if you don't get the overall required number of credits, it is bye-bye.
Universities demand a pass in all modules every year, as I said in my original post, otherwise they would not get permission to award degrees! Some will condone a pass if the student gets an average of more than 40%, gets a narrow fail (35-39% say) on one module and has acheived a high mark for another module, as long as it is not a prerequisite or required for professional body recogntion.
Most if not all universities allow a student to take a module twice in the relevant year. If they fail both attempts, they have to retake it the next year, when they get 2 more attempts. So they can have 4 goes before they are thrown off the course. Now sometimes tutors may not be terribly keen to have the student doing this and if the student does not know or does not enjoy being there, they decide to go of their own accord. A substantial number of others fight tooth and nail to stay even ater they have failed 4 times. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
