Trees are done! I think they've managed to do them without causing too much damage (after I asked them to stop walking over the bulbs growing in the wildflower space...). And I now have yet more logs to chop...

I did try to take my boots to be resoled when I went for my nail appointment (I'm away for work next week, so have to make an effort!), but it turns out there's no shoe repair place in the town. So I need to go somewhere else to get that done. Might go later if the tree guys go soon

Otherwise, I'm still listening to stuff from Davos...

Tree surgeon has been paid. So have I :)

I have four plants left to plant tomorrow, and then I need to go to London for my hair appointment. Other than that, it's packing for work as I leave at midday on Sunday.

So... I planted 3 of the plants (turns out there were 5...), went for my hair appointment, and just managed to get packed in time to leave. Great week away for work, came back and was shattered...

Not much achieved at the weekend, and I'm off again tomorrow. So veg box has been cancelled, laundry has been (mostly) done, and I've managed to do some cooking and eat some proper food. No exercise - but I have done an hour or so in the garden today and filled a garden waste bag as well as cleared space so I can see the bulbs coming up.

Pilates then GP appointment yesterday, and then a visit to my brother to see the new puppy (who is very cute, but probably a bit stressed as they've introduced her to lots of people already and she only arrived on Saturday). Today was Pilates, then physio, then the lady who is making blinds/curtains for me came over and we agreed the stuff for the first room. As my dental treatment starts next week and I'll have to start paying for the kitchen soon, so will money will be vanishing fast, but hopefully it'll be worth it.

Tonight I need to iron, pack and get some slides done to send to a colleague who needs to review them before I deliver a workshop on Thursday...

That's because you got a week and a half in one go :D

Didn't iron, didn't pack. Did do lots of slides and emails. Have a cold starting (slowly... sore throat started last week) so have skipped pilates, but am still in bed when I should be packing, ironing and showering ready to leave. Oh, and reading the electricity meter and calling the hospital to change my appointment. I might manage those two before I get dressed...

ISA and pensions still aren't sorted, but I'll take some reading with me - although I have downloads from Davos that I need to listen to again, and lots of reading on my laptop as well.

Oops... didn't do the meter reading. Did call the hospital (and discovered that I needed to speak to my consultant's secretary who was out, so emailed her and my appointment is now in June).

Work was great :) But I didn't get home until late last night. Today I've done very little other than poke about on the new forum, open the windows to air the house, tidy up anything that might get blown away, get some kindling and logs in and pick up a parcel from my neighbours. I've nearly finished the pensions book, and need to be brave tomorrow and sort out the ISA and possibly the pensions, and finalise the kitchen design (and book a call with them). I just need to make a long list of annoying little jobs and work my way through them. I should probably do one for work too!

I've finally got round to transferring the maths over from my scruffy workings to my finance notebook - and have worked out how much cash I need to add to my pension(s) at year end (roughly - I'm still owed part of my Q3 bonus, and our Q4 bonus payment has been moved from Jan to some unspecified time once the accounts have closed, which I'm hoping will be before April 5th... and if it isn't they let us know so that I can recalculate my adjusted income and my pension allowance).
So I know how much cash will go into my pensions (I need to allow for the tax element), and can then work out how much to adjust my salary sacrifice by next year (assuming I can) to use the remaining carry-over in 2020/21. The following year (2021/22) my pension allowance will be drastically reduced, so I'll have to cut my salary sacrifice, pay more tax and NICs and then focus on mortgage OPs in earnest.
So quite a productive morning given the windy day. I've also got my robots hoovering (must go and empty them) and my list to work through (next up is clearing the table and taking out a leaf so there's a bit more space in the dining room in preparation for ironing later!).
  • It always amuses me that your ironing sounds more epic than mine.

i did most of mine to 'Dirty Dancing' last night.

That's because you do yours. I ignore mine. There's all of about 15 minutes' worth in the basket at the moment, but I CBA to get the ironing board and iron and distilled water out.

Still haven't done the ironing ... and there's more of it now because I've done more washing. I've almost finished unpacking though...
I removed one leaf from the dining table and swapped over to the smaller table cloth (it's new, has bees on it and I love it :)), which also means I tidied up the rubbish on the table.
Several more loads of laundry done, and the dehumidifier moved to the utility room to help them dry (on the heated airer).
I moved furniture in my bedroom and cleaned behind the bed/bedside tables as it's obviously not something that has ever occurred to my cleaner... and left the bed pulled out for the robot to hoover. Upstairs was clearly filthy as I've had to empty it twice, and it also picked up lots of hair. Half of downstairs has been done, I'll try to remember to run it over the other half tomorrow (although it still can't get into my office!).
One fridge drawer emptied and washed. The other one can wait until tomorrow.
Ordered a couple of picture frames for some A4 posters I was given last January, and more white vinegar. I should check what other bulk orders I need and get them delivered in the next couple of weeks while I'm here.
And I've booked a waxing appointment. Nail appointment will have to wait until I've booked flights, which is tomorrow's fun job...
So... options now are strip/remake bed and have a bath OR make a start on the ironing while watching crap online... I guess once the ironing stuff is out then at least it'll be ready for doing the sheets tomorrow...
