I must clean the silver more often - it's taken a long time, and there are still marks on it. I'll have another go tomorrow, but I want to get the table cleared by the end of the day and the cleaning stuff put away. It does all look a lot better than when I started though!

Used some of the yogurt (was soya milk with coconut, so even less appealing) and some melon from the freezer in a smoothie this morning.

Soup made for lunch, and there's a couple of portions left over. Supper was stirfry with prawns - I must remember NOT to buy then with their heads and tails on as it just adds complications. Although it was nice.

So various bits from the freezer have been used up, and I've had more than double my average calories intake today (the last lot of chocolate buttons was a mistake, as I now feel sick), but as that's been around 850 calories over the week it's probably good to be up to normal for a day or so.

Ham is in the SC - I'll switch it off shortly, and remove the rind and bake it tomorrow. I've also got some chicken stock to use, so may make some leek soup (lots of leeks) with a little potato, but I don't want it to be too carb-heavy. Although I have rather a lot of potatoes to get through.

I must remember to empty and switch off the outside fridge sometime. My electricity bill for December is shocking (that's the problem with being at home and doing cooking!).

I've done one load of laundry, dried on the heated airer with the dehumidifier. I have sheets to do, but I'm putting it off as they'll need ironing. I haven't read much of my book today, so need to get myself off to bed, put some clean laundry away and read for a bit.

I did post a letter that arrived for the previous residents, and use up both some body lotion and some handwash that have been lying around for ages almost finished, so those are out and recycled. Of course, now I'll need to start thinking about buying more body lotion - I have lots of hotel soap, so plan to use that instead of handwash.

Bins were emptied, including four garden waste bags (all of which are on their last legs, but then I only pay for one to be collected...) and the Christmas tree was taken. So I can start bagging up more garden waste ready for the next collection. I'm hoping tomorrow's weather is better, as today's walk was rather short...

I'm pretty sure I've found and cleaned all the silver now (I found another little silver pot when I was putting the photo frames back), so the rags are in the bin (old sheets and PJs) and the polish put away.

I'd forgotten last night that my Saturday list included writing some letters - but checking my diary (I have two physical diaries, one is just for work, and it seems to be working) I realised I hadn't written them. So did that just before I went to bed, then walked to the shop for stamps this morning, so the cards are addressed and ready to be posted later. I also filled up the kindling bucket.

Ham was baked, and I had some for lunch with the last of the cauliflower cheese and some broccoli. The rest is bagged up - some will go into some spanish omelette that I'll make for this week and the rest will be frozen for future lunches.

I have 4 emails to send today, and the showerhead in the main bathroom to descale. I should probably empty the ash from the stove, but might leave that till tomorrow. I've had a quick look round the garden, and if I spend an hour a day in it for the rest of my time off, it should make a significant difference. Hopefully I'll be feeling up to it, as I think I'm pretty much back to normal now. In fact, I'm going to go and descale the shower, and then put some 'reading' music on and get some more of the work book read...

That's great, that you feel so much better :) when its something fairly minor, getting the anaesthetic out of your system seems to be important :)

Thanks KC. I'm planning on going to Pilates as normal tomorrow, so we'll see what that's like - technically I'm ok to drive, so then it'll just be a case of seeing whether everything works!

I checked my planner, went through my lists and have sent a whole lot of emails that should have been done ages ago but kept getting delayed as they weren't important enough. I'm hoping that the next week and a half will help me get through the backlog of small irritating tasks.

I must remember to use the shower in the main bathroom tomorrow so I can sort out the showerhead properly. It's got a lot of limescale on it, which I used to remove regularly when I showered in it, but I haven't really been using it.

I've made tomorrow's list, so just need to tidy up, set the DW off and get myself off to bed so I'm up bright and early and ready for pilates!

Went to Pilates, which was great. Although I'm quite tired now (possibly due to being awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night). I stopped off at the bank on the way home, paid in a cheque and closed two ISAs - one with 5p in it and one with 1p :D I'm waiting for a postage label from webuybooks (as my printer isn't connected, and I think it might be dead anyway) for nearly £40-worth of books. I'll at the 6p to that and move it to savings at the end of the month.

I've decided I need to do an hour in the garden and an hour in the office every day (as well as my physio and a walk - possibly even a run by the end of the week) in order to get things more under control. The weather isn't very nice at the moment, so the garden bit is going to be a challlenge!

I've got lots of stuff listed in my planner, so I'm hoping that will help me to be more productive - although quite a bit of it is chasing trades, so I'm not expecting to get it all sorted out by the time I'm back at work.

Being off is also making me feel a bit insecure about work - my role is up in the air anyway - so I need to start thinking about the theme of this year's research, working out what I'm going to publish, and submitting for conferences (and not just the ones I normally do). Networking is how I'm going to get my next job, so I need to put some effort into it.

The ISA closing will start to slim down your accounts nicely, good one!

Sorry to hear the future at work is slightly iffy ... do people still use Linked In for your area, or is there something more niche, more private?

LinkedIn is where I need to put the effort in - I haven't posted for a while, and usually do quite a bit. I've got some photos ready to go, so just need to get myself organised with some posts - at least a couple of times a week. I also need to start writing articles again, as I haven't done anything for a while. Work are doing a good job of syndicating my blog posts, but that's something else I need to start producing more content on. I just need the theme so I can start writing and thinking about what to submit for conferences.

I managed half an hour in the garden moving stuff from bags they won't collect to ones they will (which means two bags are back in the garage), and I've also spent half an hour sorting out spare room wardrobes and moving some of the Christmas decorations into them from the office.

I've also made one LinkedIn post.

There are a few things not done from today's list, but I've been very dopey (and keep falling asleep while I'm reading), so I'm going to leave it at that and carry them over to tomorrow.

Went to Pilates today, and then filled up the car with fuel. Other than that I've done a bit of laundry and some reading, and a very small amount of tidying. Nothing much at all done from my list as I've been falling asleep in between reading!

Hedging plants were delivered earlier today, and as I didn't get them in from the porch because of the weather I'm hoping they don't get blown away! The wind is very noisy, and local FB groups are reporting lots of trees down on the roads, lots of traffic jams, and trees on the rail lines too.

Tomorrow I have Pilates, then a massage and then I'm hopefully meeting up with a colleague for late lunch. And ideally getting my book finished and a few things done off my list - I need to make some phonecalls and send some emails.

Well I didn't get blown away... and neither did the plants!

Pilates was good, but I'll be glad of a few days' rest! Massage was also nice - and the lady I go to is a health coach, so I got some useful input into how to start working on maintaining my current weight rather than losing or gaining (both of which I know how to do!). I've also been given the name of a kitchen fitter (someone in one of the pilates classes that I used to go to - I've changed my times, so I don't see him, but several people recommend him).

I had a lovely lunch out, but as a result have done nothing from my list again! I have until Tuesday evening to get myself sorted out, so need to focus. Starting with planting the hedging if the weather is OK tomorrow.

I've also seen that my ISA switch has gone ahead, so I need to sort out the new plan, work out whether I need to do any rationalising, and then stick in a lump sum (checking first how much has already been paid in this year so I don't go over the limit) so that it's out of the way for this tax year.
