All the smaller furniture is now out of my bedroom and reasonably well distributed. I need to pack up a lot of odds and ends and work out where all the stuff that's migrated to the landing is going to go to. The wardrobe bit was already empty, so just the bedroom to do for Thursday - I have a little longer to get the bathroom done.
Two of the blinds in the sitting room have been swapped over, but the big one will have to wait until tomorrow - and I need to see whether I can adjust the bracket slightly as it's very tight which makes it hard to get in and out.
Back to work tomorrow, but then two more days off to get the bedroom empty and hopefully get a bit more done in the garden.2 -
Big blind done - forgot that what I really need to do is take the bracket off as the top screw needs a new hole if it's going to move... although I suspect it needs to be too close to the existing one for it to work.
Landing, bathroom and small bedroom blinds also done. Just the back bedroom and the one I'm sleeping in to do. The bedroom I'm using is VERY pink... a couple of people think it's a bit OTT (pale pink walls/ceiling and raspberry woodwork, with cream/raspberry/grey curtains). However, having moved my stuff in I think it works, so will ignore them. I do need to call the picture framer tomorrow, as I've got two pictures that are destined for this room that he's had for a couple of months, and I don't want to put the rest up until I've got them.
Lit the stove again tonight, as it definitely helps with the overall temperature in the house. And makes the cats and dog happy. Stripey cat is sleeping happily on a chair by the fire for the second evening in a row, despite the fact that Stinky is over the other side of the room.
I urgently need to cook some BNS for dog kongs and lick mats tomorrow as I'm down to the last one of each. And I also need to get logs in and chop some kindling. There is masses of old bits of fence/pallet/rotten wood that needs processing for kindling, as well as billions of logs. I just need to sort out the storage, as most of it is at the far end of the garden, which isn't hugely convenient. There is a lean-to on the side of the garage that's intended for logs, but it needs some thinking about to make it efficient storage.
Gardener has changed his day - must remember that I want him to clear the back of the veg plot. Other things keep coming up, and the undergrowth is threatening to take over.1 -
Ahh part of our Sunday afternoon was spent chopping up foraged wood into lengths for kindling - and with luck I *think* we may be set for at least most of the winter now...with one big trug and at least three smaller buckets in the shed, plus a nearly-full basket already in the front room... I said to MrEH that as things stand I'm not going to be looking for anything more to forage for the time being, anyway - we've still got some lengths to be chopped as and when.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've filled the log baskets, restocked the porch, and split the easy bits of kindling into sensible sizes. Others need sawing down to the right length first which means opening the workshop and getting the workbench out, so I'll slowly build up a big batch to do.3

Fatty's microchip feeder keeps ignoring her. This is resulting in massive tantrums (I had no idea what they were about until I saw her trying and failing to open it), so needs dealing with. I've just checked and it has a three year guarantee, and I bought them around 15 months ago.
Miraculously, all three animals are in the same room - Stripey on a chair by the fire, Fatty on the sofa next to me, and Stinky in his bed by the door clearly of the opinion that he should be allowed further into the room. Fire is lit, so it's nice and cosy.
BNS cooked earlier today has been cooled and used to fill a billion kongs and lick mats. Kongs are all in the freezer. Lick mats have to go in one at a time as they stack on top of each other, so each layer needs to freeze enough not to stick to the one above before it goes in. I may be up late...3 -
Love the scene of animal bliss by the fire.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -

Submitted a support ticket for Fatty's feeder as she's having to ask me to open it at the moment. They have a three day SLA which isn't ideal. Definitely not the chip, as I tried adding her to the other one and it worked (as does the catflap). ... and Stripey just came in... it doesn't work on her chip either.
Called the chimney sweep who is waiting to hear back from another customer in my area and will let me know on timings.
I keep trying the plumber, but he appears to be ghosting me. I'm not actually expecting him to turn up on Monday morning, but have no clue what to do if he doesn't. The bedroom needs another radiator and the towel rail needs replacing, and I can't really ask the decorator to swap it with doing the hall/stairs/landing as the landing needs another radiator and possibly the existing one swapping out. And none of this is the kind of stuff you really want done before the carpet goes down and the decorating is done as it involves taking the floor up, mess, and dirt.

Bedroom is now almost empty. One blind is really hard to get down, so I gave up - same with the ones in the bathroom. There's the headboard to come off the bed, and then I'm finished with the stuff I can do myself (there's a shelf in the bedroom and a cabinet in the bathroom, but they're not in the way and the decorator can deal with them). I also cleared up the landing so it doesn't look so cluttered and they'll be able to get stuff in and out.
I've got some stuff to load into the car for the CS, as I think I might get there tomorrow (I have another day off, a dentist appointment in the morning and had originally planned to empty the bedroom with my cleaner, but have obviously had to do that early as they're coming tomorrow... and I won't be doing outside stuff or laundry as the gardener has changed his day). If not, Friday morning (I may have another batch of stuff for then anyway).
I'm trying not to worry about the plumber. If he doesn't turn up on Monday morning I'll see whether the electrician's contact who does heat pumps would be able to squeeze me in, and move the heatpump project up the list.
I need to make a decision on lights - two for the hall, two for the bathroom which has temporary bulb holders and some glass lampshades that look ridiculous so close to the ceiling, one for the ensuite (down from the 5 LED inset spots currently in there) and something for the wardrobe (hard to decide when I don't have a design, but hopefully we can sort that out on Friday morning).
Cats aren't thrilled at everything being moved round, and the dog is insisting that he's bored, despite an extra-long walk this morning where I was on the phone most of the time so he was running about unsupervised!3 -
Plumber turned up randomly at 6ish (just as I was about to feed the dog, who waited patiently by the door whereas Fatty had a massive tantrum while he was measuring up). So all set for Monday... and while he's here we'll sort out dates for the landing radiators. However, the decorator has now asked to come a week earlier (which would be great, but... the wardrobe is being done that week so I need to talk to the builders when they come round on Friday...)1

Have been to the dentist, fixed my mum's computer, taken the dog for a walk, done some dead-heading.
Gardener has cleared what is supposed to be part of the veg plot but was never properly cleared (and we'll use it to rot down the turf that's being lifted over the winter) and covered it with cardboard, so both garden waste bins are full.
Carpet fitters removed carpet, underlay, and carpet gripper (and moved mattress/bed/blanket chest for me).

Now I need to work out the plan for cheap electricity overnight...- Discharge battery by 23.30 at the latest (most before 10pm)
- Set towel rail, battery, and hot water for 23.30-02.00, 04.00-05.30
