With the small .25% cut in the NY Fed interest rate setting yesterday I would have expected more of a drop in the price of gold. But all we have seen is about $25 USD drop, and about £10 sterling.
The usual financial talking heads can't even say their customary 'markets have already priced it in' spin. If anything was priced in, its a further weakening of the pound to $1.21, which isn't what the US economy needs

In the UK gold got within £5 of its all time sterling high, its about £20 off that at the moment. Grandma gets a sherry though..._

Don't let her have too much sherry, or she might lose at the dogs :)

    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

Happy again to see Fundsmith withstanding most of the small drop over the last month with just a 1.4% decrease. My Merian UK mid cap fund took another small hit due to you know what. Its getting pretty cheap now with plenty of the holdings around the 5-7 PE mark. Could go either way from here. As usual my Legg Mason Japan fund got a boost because the cash flooding back into the Yen. I have noticed that its positioned a bit more defensively than when I first bought it almost 3 years ago (still a bit nuts though).

Don't Let Your Granny Loose at the Dogs

    £107,810

    Includes cash balance of £768

Added IPE -INVESCO ENHANCED INCOME LIMITED during the month 2805 shares at a cost of £2099.60p.

A little winterising for the portfolio at this time of uncertainty.

Share your sentiments Prism. Though a number of UK small and mid caps look enticing. Added IPU to my main portfolio later in the month. (To be true to the reporting. I add to the fantasy portfolio the first stock that I add to my main portfolio).

    A_T's British Bulldog portfolio

    Gains:
    HSBC FTSE 250 Index C Acc 2.77%
    L&G UK 100 Index Trust I Acc 6.59%
Marlborough UK Micro Cap Growth P Acc 2.04%
Vanguard UK Government Bond Index Acc GBP 14.86%

    Total gain 6.56%

Disappointing returns but better than a savings account and inflation. Maybe Boris' big spending after Brexit will boost UK shares.

Very nice return on Digger UK pot of gold this month.

I dropped India and I am now firmly strapped in for the LT IT experience.
