After a difficult few months Linton Growth is now recovering against VLS100. Still some way to go yet.

Fortunately we sold some gold when the market was paying between £1270 and £1150. That market has now gone, the current price is £1130 and looks to fall further.

Throughout the last few months it has been unexciting in $USD, going very little outside the $1450 and $1500 range. The price in GBP has swung between £1275 and £1125, sitting at £1130 for now.

Again the reason for a £150 kicking is the £GBP/$USD fluctuations, they have gone between $1.20 and $1.29. Those of you getting dividends from areas of the world with dollar parity should be smiling.

Why the £GBP/$USD FX has moved so dramatically is the mystery for me here. If granny doesn't come up with the answer there's no sherry for christmas. But we did average out at a fortunate time, let's see if our Uncle Ernie at Premium Bonds is kind to us..._

Sterling rose in response to the probability of a hard Bredit receding.

Well at year end Prism Global is at £129,984.

A good year overall up nearly 25%, after last years drop. Fundsmith has done well again - recent articles and comments about it being the end of the good times for quality investing seem a little premature.
Smithson and Montanaro better world have done really well as my smaller companies funds.
FEET has been pretty terrible again, partly down to the swing from 2% premium to a more accurate 10% discount - maybe next year will be its year ;)
Gresham House micro cap has finished strongly - I worry if this is the right vehicle for micro caps and would prefer it if it was an IT.

Good luck for the New Year!

Growth slowly but steadily gaining on VLS100/VGFTSEGALL after the fall in 2018/2019. WP steady. Both well ahead of retirement plan.

Well 2019 ended with a disappointing result. My recent tinkering with the portfolio didn’t have the desired effect.

Most of my woes can be attributed to pulling out of China and Linsell Train.

Lindsell Train Global Equity is showing under performance and Lindsell train IT does not appear to be attracting the irrational exuberance crowd it used to.

All the best for a profitable 2020.
