  • Well I just typed out loads and MSE goblins swallowed the post :( Thank you for letting me join in. Its already helping!

    So a shorter version:
    Organise:
-Sorted through the cupboards - no staples in. Sunday set aside to put together a shopping list/Meal Plan to go forward. I used to batch cook a lot but Hubby eats anything I leave in the pans before I have time to put it away. >:(
-Away tom. Checked travel route/times, got tickets. Todo: Prep food and flask.
-Finances: 3 credit cards 2 going down )0%) one going up (normal) need to have a discussion about that with hubby. I wanted to chop the normal up after BT. he uses it for emergency purchases, I'd rather do without. Never going to get out from under this otherwise.
-Birthdays: 2 before Christmas. Presents all sorted, buying bits all year. (thank god!) 13th bday bowling party booked need to sort invites. 7th Shopkins, hired the hall need streamers. Returned dangerous party disco light to Amazon, reported the seller it nearly melted a whole in my sideboard.:
Important: Figure out how to sort out the rising damp.

    Stopober

No more cooking different meals for different faddy (not allergy etc) family. ESP the kids :D

    Winter
    Found hot water bottles.
    To do:
Flu jabs for family. Repeat prescriptions for inhalers (hubby & daughter)
Stock up: Tea tree oil, Obias Oil

    Always be kind
Bag of toys which did not ebay to Air Ambulance.
Bag of clothes to Air Ambulance.

Regular - still getting to grips with this one I have no idea of budgets- file under ORGANISE on Sunday.

Love this post, mothernerd. Especially when you tell us of the lovely times you have with your mum. Today's one made me cry (no, not your fault at all) as it struck me again that I won't ever have that again with my mum. I love hearing about you and her pottering along so comfortably together. xx

Just checking in today for a quick confession, managed to finish off the whole bottle of wine last night which then resulted in bigger spends today, £3.50 on car parking, £3.50 on lunch. £1.19 on orange juice and £1.30 on a bottle of cherry coke. Orange juice and Coke are what I always want when I have a sore head, the lunch was my own fault for not being more prepared.

Thank you, Mothernerd and Kerry. He's fine – just bruised and sore. Today we've done absolutely nothing

ORGANIZE: My son has informed me that he'll be going to a film festival every evening until next Wednesday and won't need me to make dinner for him. That's made the meal plan a whole lot easier. So lots coming out of the freezer.

GET READY FOR WINTER: Need to get on to buying those candles and matches.

    Check the torches are working
Look out winter hat, scarf, gloves and boots
Look out tracks for covering shoes for walking in icy weather
Council are responsible for gritting path and lane but might buy some salt anyway.
    .
ALWAYS BE KIND: Hope I managed this today.

    IMPROVISE: Nothing

STOPTOBER: Confession – I've just had a G & T whilst watching an old Inspector Morse.

EXERCISE: Absolutely none. Weather was awful again but it's still warm so the heating's still off. I wonder if this insulation really is working.

ONE MORE TIME: Well, no chocolate – yet!

CHRISTMAS: Thought about it. I think I'll start shopping this week.

    NSD: 3/12.

    EXTRA INCOME: Nobody wanted me.

Mothernerd – I loved your post and the quote about left over chocolate really made me laugh.

Hope everyone is ok and has a lovely weekend.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

I've been back home from holiday for 24 hours now and need to start shaking my pom poms again and get back into the challenge. Finances have been sorted today and are on track, the other stuff I'll need to get on to, no excuses still over half a month left.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Yesterday and today have been failures and I've have no good excuse. I can only put it down to general laziness. I couldn't be bothered to make lunch so Thursday and Friday I went to Greggs. Not great. Blip over. Spend free days with a vengeance from Sunday. I'm working from home Monday, Wednesday and From day so that should help!!

Tomorrow night I have plans which will mean another spend but then I'm on it like Sonic! Tom has all of next week off so that should help as he will have plenty of time to make dinner :)

  • hi everyone :) quick check in as am exhausted after today at work, and this week really. Sometimes it really knocks the stuffing out of me. I changed my work pattern at the beginning of sept so I can collect madam from school. Whereas previously I worked 2 days one week and 3 the following. I really used to appreciate those 5 days off every other week, and think at this point I'm feeling it as it's taken a lot out of me this week. One more week until I'm off for 10 days :j

today & yesterday were SFDs so now 7/15 :D think I can squeeze another in this week  It's unheard of for me to manage that many in a week. But to be honest I don't think I'm spending any less. Just getting better at organising to do all of the little bits and bobs in one day!

    No exercise today...

I took some time in lieu this morning and left work 1/2 early at the end of the day :T (I never do this!) looking forward to laying down, knitting and unwinding when madam goes to bed....

even more looking forward to not being at work the next 3 days :j

  • Happy weekend everyone. Just a quick check in as am on the way out. A friend is holding a small housewarming so will be a cheap night out - she now lives only 5 mins walk away so no paying for taxi and picked up a bottle of bubbles with my food shop yesterday. Need to get her a gift at some point but want to see the house first as know she had lots already and don't want to buy tat for the sake of it!

Declaring today a NSD, now on 7/15 (thought it was more but the spending diary doesn't lie! Hopefully will check in over the weekend with a better post of how I am faring the challenge, managing to just skim the thread at the mo

    Day 13
Was a spend day. Have updated notebook. Got a remedy which helps to comfort and reassure. Was 3 for 2. Saved £6.99. Also had to get insoles.
Brought my lunch into work and walked 20 minutes.
Read some of book on bus and in staffroom.
Used things what I had in.
Did a quick and easy dinner due to the timing I got in from work.
    Grateful for:
Managed to get into work at the time I told my line manager in work.
Managing to do a few errands after work, which will save me doing them tomorrow.
Able to do most of the things I had to do in work considering I was in by 11am.
It is Friday and payday(get paid every Friday if I worked the previous week).
Bringing home a blueberry muffin from one of the packs of muffins which my agency brought into where I am temping.
    Having a good night sleep.
For having enough mince pies to go with both my Mum and mine lunches for the week.
